Roids Out, Juiced Ball In

Is it just my imagination, but have you all noticed that the number of players hitting homeruns this year, the year without "roids", with the exception of Manny and who knows whoelse, that marginal HOMERUN HITTERS are now pounding them out. The Rays, SS, has already tied his output for the year, and this is only after 40 or so games. Each team has players banging them out who are not, in the past, home run hitters. Damon of the Yankees, pleaase, a good ball player and a singles and doubles hitter, but not a long ball threat. Even Varitec of the Red Sox has popped a few out and most thought that he was washed up after last year.
So, just what are they eating to beef up their physique? They don't look too pumped up to me, ala the great Sammy or Mark or Jose. Could it possibly be that the league had to supply the fans with some type of excitement now that it is exposed to the Roid Era. What was it, back in the 60's and 70's that caught the attention of the fan. Lets see, they lowered the pitching mound so that we no longer had 1-0 or2-1 games and the Gibsons and Koufaxs of the world would become mere mortal. I've got it!! The ball has been readdressed and the little pit that is inside of the leather as been hardened and the laces on the ball have been changed. Gees, could out National Pasttime stoop to another low? Nah, not now with the economy tanking and people staying closer to home. Nah, that could not be, or could it? To be or not to be, that is the question.
