Well, it's been a month and finally I can get my right hand up to the keyboard and touch type. I cant believe a month has gone by since my accident. It's been a real rollercoaster. I had also banged my head real good, so I was rather out of it for a while. A long time friend came and visited me for 10 days and just left Sun. And my son arrives back home from his army mission Fri. I'm looking forward to riding around in his massive '85 Delta 88. The perfect vehicle for someone with broken bones! The arm is so badly broken that even surgery is not an option. A spiral bread mi-humerus and broken into little pieces is the upper 4-5 inches. Sheesh. Tomorrow I go to the hospital to get my every-2-weeks xrays and see the surgeon. Luckily, the dr's reveiws on the internet indicate that he's essentially competent, even if he is a supremely arrogant jerk.
It was weird getting used to not working and now not having to do something every minute of the day. Now I'm living "off the clock". Today I thought "what should I do now?' Practice my digereedoo! So there it is on the couch and I pick it up periodicly. I have to sit down to practice because the effort makes me feel dizzy...;P
And I even did some sketching on my lap. I can use my hand more and more but my arm remains out of order. It's amazing how much I can do with just my left hand. Example: salad spinner: sit on floor, brace spinner against stove with left foot. Hold lid of spinner down with right foot. Commence spinning. Almost anything can be done as long as I can take my time. Just cant ride a bike, play piano or guitar ( like the joke: doc, will I be able to backflips when my arm is healed? because I've always wanted to do backflips.....;P!
