As the Cardinals gather in the Sistine chapel to select a new Pope, an African boy asks God if there will ever be an African Pope. God says to the boy, "Son, there are many fine Catholics in Africa. I'm sure there will be an African Pope one day." A Mexican then asks God if there will ever be a Mexican Pope. God replies, "Some of my most devout followers are Mexican. I'm sure there will be a Mexican Pope someday." A University of Florida graduate says to God, "There ain't never been no Gator as Pope. Will 'der ever be a Gator Pope?" God's reply: "Perhaps, but not as long as I'm God."
