With the pandemic, I noticed that waiting rooms in several doctor's or specialist's waiting rooms I've been in have NO reading material. I understand they don't want people touching papers and magazines and then others touching them. Our family doctor still keeps out old magazines like certain skiing magazines, old People or Time magazines, the Mosquito News, or very very old travel magazines like one offering tips while on the Titanic or Hindenburg. No people are reading those, anyway. I miss my Highlights for Children and Humpty Dumpty magazine. I have an I-4 cell phone (I think that's what my daughter calls it )so I can't watch a movie or play games to entertain myself. I'll bring in a newspaper to read now as I know there might be no reading material. Why not set up a bumper pool or ping pong table or have skoosball or something to do while the patients are waiting? It will take their mind off why they are there (like a root canal or colonoscopy or a cystoscopy (depending on what kind of doctor they are seeing.) I'm just tired of playing pocket pool and staining my pants.
