This was inspired by Spicybitch. The trials and tribulations of being a single woman in modern society is not an easy road to navigate – especially when you have back-seat driving mothers! Personally I can’t stand people who question my singlehood – like it was a stigma of shame. To them I say – FUCK OFF! I will not do something rash to make you feel better about who I am.

I am a single woman of Modern America.
I have ambitions.
I have hopes.
I have dreams.
And I have world of love to give.

I have been searching for he who earns my respect
Who captures my imagination.
Who stimulates my mind.
Who makes my body sing.
And who puts me on a pedestal.

The search has been anything but simple.
My heart has been broken.
My soul has been beaten.
My strength has been sapped.
And my self-worth has been questioned.

But I am still here!!
I still wake up each day.
I still take care of myself (and you).
I still come home alone.
And I still continue my search.

Your bullshit will not stop me.
I will find that “great love.”
I will find my equal.
I will find a man of substance.
And I. DESERVE. NOTHING. LESS!!!
