This is a song I wrote when I was around 19 or so...although the rhythm of the song was changed several years later into what you hear now. I guess I always had a thing about people slacking, as most of my songs seem to reference it in one form or another. Funny, I now seem to be one of the biggest slackers I know. lol! Oh well, I guess we all have optimistic visions when we are young.

Lives of Competition
Do you believe in the power
Or is it all something you know
Too many people aren't trying
Too many people gettin old
Is it that we've turned our lives from competition
Is it that we've turned our ways
Is it that we've turned our lives from all we're missin
And only live from day to day
As we grow older there's a challenge
To do as we say to till the end
Is there a destiny before us
Is there a course that tells us when
Or is it that we've turned our lives from competition
Is it that we've turned our ways
Is it that we've turned our lives from all we're missin
And only live from day to day
Only a child's heart will tell you
The world is a backdrop from a play
Of all the way they try to tell us
We smile and go about our ways
Is it that we've turned our lives from competition
Is it that we've turned our ways
Is it that we've turned our lives from all we're missin
And only live from day to day
