Lengthy Pursuit or Not?

Recently, I have been thinking a lot about the fine line between pursuing a woman and just looking plain foolish and wasting everyones time. I have no problem with the pursuit of a woman...it is kind of old fashioned and neat. Pursuing too hard can have either one of two outcomes. Either you get the girl...or more so today, you look like a desperate stalker. We have all seen the cute interviews with the elderly couples that have been married for 50+ years. You know, the ones where the woman is sitting next to her husband telling us about how her husband chased her for months before she finally gave in and went out with him. And him telling us that he was in love the minute he saw her, and she chuckles about how indifferent she was towards him back then.

On the flip side, we constantly hear both men and woman saying "can't they just get the hint...I am not interested, how annoying". In this day of caller ID, voicemail, IM invisibility, etc. it is easy to hide or ignore someone we don't want to talk to. Not sure if it is a generational thing...but back when, it was almost romantic to pursue a woman. Now I believe people think it is creepy and wrong. It is weird, I hear from a lot of people saying "hey, move on...there are other fish in the sea". This thinking may be indicative of why there are so many bad relationships and divorces. I guess as an entrepreneur and a man, I find it difficult and unnatural to just move on at the first hiccup. Aren't we suppose to work at things we really want?

So, my question to the Blogster community (in particular the woman) is "what are your feelings regarding a man pursuing you?" Has anyone here been pursued where it worked out? Does a man in this day and age look foolish or desperate courting a woman...or is it still romantic? Should one just walk away after trying two or three times? At what point do you just walk a way and give up? Love to hear your thoughts on this.
