A Ramble

Needing a creative release. Feeling a block in my mind. That weird heavy cloud that is easily hurtled if something challenging comes along to tackle. Nothing challenging comes to mind. So writing it is. A free form. A ramble.

Been back in LA for a few days now. A week tomorrow. Feels like I never left and yet every morning feels so new and like anything is possible. The weather has been great. I feel something great coming. I don't know what it is. I've never been so tired. I want to live at the gym, but instead I walk the city as the weather is glorious and sometimes old eyes see new things in all too familiar surroundings.

Been reading John Scalzi's "Old Man's Army" and "The Ghost Brigades." Actually, I reald OMA over Thanksgiving and TGB over Christmas. Fun easy reads. A good escape. Enough different things to stay interested and easy forward movement that all good airplane novels follow.

Money has been super tight for me. 2008 ended rough and bristly for me. I was very unhappy and uncomfortable and uninspired. This new year feels magical. Something wonderful this way comes.

My boyfriend has been nothing but aces. He's delightful and loving and patient and crabby and funny and tired and handsome and taking and giving. He and his friends taught me how to cross-country ski and get better at downhill skiing. I love cross-country skiing. It's a great aerobic workout and so damn pretty being outside. The cardio. OH, the cardio! And the riding down in pretty powder, well, they sure showed me a good time. As for the downhill skiing part, I must say poor visability makes for heartracing adrenaline.

Alison Krause is relaxing to me. I don't understand heavy metal.

Been having weird and interesting dreams. Dreamed of a spitting up baby, and then two nights later we were at a dinner party where there was a 7wo cute little girl named Penelope who was spitting up a bit. Weird. Am I beginning to predict my future? If so, I destined to make an odd mistake and snag my boyfriend's favorite t-shirt, causing it to rip in passing -- exposing his whole back and a bit of displeasure. Hmmm ... Of course, also in that baby spitting dream, I dreamt my dad drove a UFO.

I almost feel fun again. I almost feel funny again. I almost feel fantastic.

Hungry for something and don't know what. Ate some ground turkey marinara my boyfriend whipped up. Skipped the noodles. Ate a tangelo. Still, the tea I'm drinking isn't filling the void. Maybe I need some gum.

Been working part-time on a game show thanks to a loyal, good friend. It's creative and interesting, but not enough moolah. I need them to come up with more work for me, a/o trust the universe will bring me a new horizon to succeed at AND save tons of money in my ING account.

My parents are the best. Hands down.

I love playing cards.
