This concept does not involve the discovery or accessing of fuel. It is only concerned with 2 things: 1. Creating a citizen's reserve of fuel. 2. Creating a fallback form of currency as a hedge against the failure of the dollar and as a means of establishing a degree of economic freedom. Off-shore drilling is not my issue. Off-shore storage is.
Labor already is money. Just as gasoline, gold, and turnips are money. They all have trade value. But the value of labor is not consistently measurable. (Though recently Obama gave his support to the Leftist notion of equal pay for equal work as though the government could decide what equality meant in units of work. You guys have got to stop this kind of insanity.)
Nor does this plan have anything to do with reducing dependency on fossil fuels. To begin with I have never bought into the fear of fossil fuels, i.e. "man-made global climate change". I do recognize, however, that these resources are finite. Still, there is no doubt in my mind that enough of it exists to last us well beyond the time it takes to come up with better alternatives in the natural course of time. The panic is completely unnecessary.
I'd like to see you on the board of a Citizen's Co-op. The best cure for liberalism is to force a man to keep a business afloat.
I just posted additional clarification. All three of my most recent posts are related to this subject. Good to hear from you.
We didn't solve the same problem in Laos and Cambodia. It had better be solved before Obama gets in. Every terrorist and dictator on earth is looking foreward to the day he steps into office.
I caught him on Beck. I was impressed at his understanding that we need to get back to "real money". I hope he understands that the best possible commodity to back paper money is gasoline. He did not mention that We, The People, could create our own money but between him and Glenn I think they are on their way coming to that conclusion. It could represent a revolution in human independence and break one of the strongest links to government domination.
She could be the first woman, the first Rican and the first idiot President ever. Why doesn't it matter to extreme Leftists that they are voting for someone with an IQ of 70? Because all that matters on that side is race, sex and sexual preference. And you want to label everyone on the Right a bigot!
Assuming that you know as much or more about intelligence and counter-intelligence as I do I can't understand how you come to the conclusion that the CIA "redefined" dirty politics. What about the KGB, the Mussad or any of a dozen other highly sophisticated espionage agencies? I'm not saying you're wrong I'm just wondering how you come to the absolute conclusions that you do when there are much, much, much more competent dirty tricks operatives out there than the U.S. can brag about. I cannot believe that you truly believe that the Right controls the media here. That's just too obviously untrue. I still suspect, as I have since we first met, that you are yourself a disinformation propagandist. Stay in touch.
I expect him to try to add an extra dimension to dirty politics. He's showing how easy it is to manipulate people using the methods refined by witch doctors, priests and religious masters of every type for about a million years. A very dangerous guy.
One person could not get control of our monetary system but a few knowledgeable people could easily put together a team of professionals that could do the job: bankers, oil execs, lawyers and franchizer experts for starters.
Deep. Where'd you get all this? B.O. is as natural a Chicago scumbag politician as there has ever been. I'd say his greatest pride is in refining the tactics to new orders of perfection. The best indication of this is in the quote above. "I came home in Chicago". Maneuver, manipulate, dominate and assassinate. This is what American politics has become and it will only get worse if The People don't put a stop to it. That begins with getting control of our money again.
I appreciate the comment. Those of us who understand that our most important freedoms are being threatened today will understand the value of creating a secondary, i.e. back-up or emergency, free market monetary system; one that government cannot interfere with.
I'm astounded every time a Progressive brings up Darfur and whines that the U.S. should "do something!" When we went in to save the Somalis who was the first to scream that it was not our business to be playing world cop? As we continue the fight to save Iraqi lives who is in the streets demanding we abandon them? When we defended the South Vietnamese against Communist take-over who marched in the steets coloring our intentions as imperialist? (I know I did not enlist to take anyone's country away from them.) Most of the peoples of the dark continent are facing life and death conditions of one nature or another. What are we to do about it? It is the Progressives who stand in the way of those who would act to save Darfur. If we were to send military assistance there how long would it be before Progressives would be in the streets condemning our "interference"? The last thing we will every get out of Progressivism is progress.
I am not labeling you a Progressive. But on this issue you seem not to understand that it isn't our government's lack of desire to save Darfurians. It is Progressive insanity that prevents our doing so.
You give the clumsy U.S. propaganda efforts past and present far, far too much credit. They're pin pricks in comparison to the propaganda and indoctrination policies of the Soviets, Chinese or Cubans to name a few. And the concept certainly did not originate in the U.S. as you so ridiculously claim. When you say such non-sense you demonstrate the effectiveness of the reality that was constructed for you. If you're looking for the begining point of creative reality on a political level I suggest you look to Marxism. On a social level religion beats them all by a million years.
Most interesting is your comment that 80% of Americans want out of Iraq. You could not have used a worse example to support your argument about the effectiveness of Bush reality design. Clearly, by that very statistic (80%), Leftist reality design efforts have overwhelmed the common sense conclusion that independant thinking citizens would have arrived at concerning the justification and need for that war. The reason 80% of Americans take a negative position on the war is that the Leftists in media, education and politics have created the very negative view of reality that you've bought into.
While I disagree with your construction of the Iraq war as a pre-emptive one as you like to color it, what amazes me most about Leftism is that it considers a pre-emptive war to be some sort of crime. If someone points a gun at you with the intention of killing you and you shoot him first that's a pre-emptive strike. If you have the power to stop someone from killing you and you don't do it you have, for all practical purposes, commited suicide. Only people hopelessly detatched from reality would condemn across the board an individual or nation's right to self-defense by justifiable pre-emption. It's either insane or suicidal to commit to such a policy.
Rove wishes he could create our reality. Media and education have created reality for everyone before politicians ever get the chance. What effect politicians can have to effect perception in adults can only succeed in relationship to the indoctrination undergone in youth. Rove can only dream of creating a Republican reality when media, education and the Dems are already in a lockstep partnership.
I offered the solution to our unsupported monetary system in the very first posts I made at Blogster some 2 plus years ago. We can make our own money and back it with a gasoline reserve. Certificates guarantying a gallon of gas on demand could be offered by a citizen's co-op. It's all Consitutional and could serve as a back-up monetary system in the event of the dollar's complete failure. I intend to post on the subject again within the week. Meantime you might follow back on my original posts. We can secure our children's future.
I asked for and received a genuine period 48 star flag for Christmas from my children. I will fly it on the 4th for the first time this year.
I served in the military under the 50 star flag but the disgrace it suffered at the hands of antiwar activists and the shame of surrender in Viet Nam has soured my appreciation of that flag. The era of the 60's did irrepairable harm to American patriotism and that is obvious from this post and all the comments that follow it.
Damn the politicians. Stand up and salute your flag and what it stands for!
The entire penal system needs to be scrapped. The xpense is ridiculous and unecessary. We need to reserve a couple of islands and ship our criminals there to serve their full terms. I can think of no greater deterrent to crime than the thought of being dropped on an island full of murderers and thieves without supervision.
