Pert' near everyone agrees that we're on the skids. Trouble is no one can agree on why that is. What are the core reasons? Until we get those answers the slide will continue.

I recall that when I was younger defenders of the 2nd amendment liked to say that the reason the founding fathers added it was so that we would be able to defend ourselves against our own government. At the time I thought that the idea that a few citizens might stop government tyranny with firearms was sooo 18th century as to be silly. Now I can envision that when they come to take the rest of our freedoms all we'll have left to resist with is our firearms.
Most importantly my government refuses to defend our borders or to enforce our laws of sovereignty. Criminals, anarchists and terrorists infest the country and use political correctness' dysfunctional logic against us. Moral values are sneered at and violent crime is on the increase. How can my government expect me not defend myself when clearly it has abandoned its responsibility to do so?

In this country insanity flows from west to east. How long, do you think, before communism and anarchy infect us in the heartland?

In addition to paying lawyers fees and a fine I had to do 40 hours of community service in '06 for using a BB gun to stop a couple of punks from playing "dine and dash" at my restaurant in the Chicago burbs. Got fired, too. No one backed me up on what I did. Not even my family. They all thought it was me that broke the law. Technically I did break the law but that's only because the laws have been twisted so that its illegal for a man to defend his property.
I'm just sayin'...

As I look Leftward through the history that I have lived I am staggered by the bizarre and unreformed nature of its players. Some 40 years after the fact we have socialist bombers teaching in our universities and declaring that they regret not having set more bombs and killed more innocent people (Lord hear my prayer). Just yesterday that political genius "Rosie" encouraged the pod people to meet in L.A. to re-enact the 68 convention. The madness never ends and reason never grips these people. The young will do the burning and bombing that's coming but it will be because old farts like these, who can't let go of their own irrational ideologies, rouse them to rage.

Naturally there are technical differences between now and the 60's but the Leftist radical attitude has not changed one iota.

I encroach upon your borders at on an average of two or three times a year. I never get as far north as the wilds of Detroit though and I'm not sure where Lincoln Park is. But it rings a bell. Are you near Travis?
You're right, I've never been to Reston but I guess it's as good a place as any to be from. That's not my picture either BTW.

He appears to be a "New World Order" operative like GW and his old man. Unfortunately I have no idea what the NWO intends for the New World to look like. None of them has ever bothered to explain what their goals are. It is perfectly apparent, however, that it isn't going to be a free world. So far its going in the direction of "1984". The other two choices are outright socialist/communists. How did we do this to ourselves?

You have come to a lot of conclusions from your investigations and there isn't much I can do to dissuade you from any of them. But of the positions you've taken I will only comment on one.

Your notion that the world views us as ignorant fools and that we're "occupying" 100 countries is a distortion fostered by the emotional imagination of the Left. It is absolutely true they we are disliked by many in the world but this dislike is the variety that grows from resentment. It is the same kind of resentment that is harbored against "Corporate America" by small minds like Ekyp who considers the man who feeds him to be his enemy. It is the kind of resentment that builds when people become dependent upon others for the food on their tables but doesn't like the taste it leaves in their mouths.

Any country that we now "occupy" could demand that we leave and we would do so. The fact is that the governments of those countries understand that there is something to be gained by our presence. Whether the reasons be financial aid, military protection, technological assistance or outright bribery America is not in any country against the will of its leaders (though you might argue the case that the leaders of Iraq and Afghanistan are "our" inventions.) The media, political dissidents and other malcontents within all nations are constantly stirring resentment against the US. by using just such terms as "occupiers".

No one would be happier than me to see us get out of 90% of those countries and let the world see what happens to them when we're gone. Darfur has not been the disaster it has been because of America's presence. It has been so because America was not present. Come to think of it if we had occupied Germany after the 1st WW there would surly not have been a 2nd WW. And remember what our beloved clown R.J. Daley meant to say rather than what he actually said: "The police aren't there to create disorder. They're there to preserve disorder." Our intentions around the world are pure but too often we put the power to act on our good intentions in the hands of political clowns.

Don't be influenced or disheartened by the fact that "everyone hates us". There are all sorts of forces intentionally turning our friends against us. Even within our own borders and among our own citizens we have dissidents who hate and work to destroy the foundations of American, i.e. the Revs. Wright and Sharpton, the Leftist subversives in our educational system, and even individuals holding office in our government to mention only a few.

We could end our dependence on foreign oil immediately if it were not for government incompetence. We have enough coal to last a thousand years and coal can be converted to gasoline and sold for half the price we're paying now. The problem is that government will not define the legal parameters for producers to begin the project. No doubt our nutless pols are frightened of the environmentalists and global warming wackos.
