You know you need to let go of something or someone, they may even be just a memory by now. It's the best time for that, because your emotional energy is nearing a peak and you can sense how important that is.

WOW! Talk about being dead-on with my reality! For months I have been fighting an inner battle over my husband - he treats me like crap - is verbally and physically abusive (as is his 15 yr. old daughter) yet I've stood by him making one excuse after another for him (post-war PTSD, alcohol, stress, survivor's guilt, etc.). He's been in counseling as well as treatment for alcoholism, yet nothing changes ... it's as if I don't exist in his little fairy-tale world anymore because I've dared to object to his treatment of me. I am the "enemy" of sorts and he very much sees me as a threat to being able to continue on in what he knows is self-destructive and could cost him everything in life, including his freedom. Letting go is one of the toughest things to do when you love and care for someone ....
