As promised here is the NEW blog. Not that it will really amount to much, but as it has been too long since I have posted anything of value, I felt I owed the world a posting….

SO – Show Freebies:

One of the benefits of working in the entertainment business is that upon occasion you get free shit. Most frequently this shit comes in the form of T-shirts, sweatshirts, hats, jackets, computer bags and umbrellas. Usually from a production company or production shoot saying “THANKS FOR DOING A GREAT JOB,” as opposed to giving you a bonus in the form of CASH. And thus you are stuck with shit.

However, there are rare moments of opportunity where you walk away with more than just an article of clothing. Case in point – the game show I’ve been working on the last few months. One of our prizes was a set of Dinning and Living Room furniture. Our contact for the furniture loaned us a set to shoot live on set with then promptly told us they didn’t want it back…..needless to say the 4 people who work on the Production Management team (myself & 3 others) “forgot” to mention this tid-bit to the executives and divided up the goods. Granted most of this stuff was far too garish for anyone with ANY taste (the dinning table had Swarovski crystals all over it), but we each found something and I ended up with a fabulous high-back chair and an armless chair.

New gig….sort of….

Yes, I have been working on yet another new gig the last few weeks. Since game show #1 has been putting staff on “forced hiatus” between shoots I have been scaling my life back during such times to make ends meet and food in my mouth. On our last shoot one of the show execs asked me to help him out on a couple of game show pilots he’s shooting during my hiatus. I’m scheduled to go back to game show #1 in the next 2 weeks and I do not know what’s going on here yet. Quite frankly no one does. Things on these pilots change on a daily basis as the network figures out what they want, but that’s nothing new. Will I be back after game show #1 is done shooting more episodes? Who knows, all I care about is that right now I’m getting paid.
