My first experience with blogging was on MySpace. I have been on MySpace for more than a year. Things were great and I loved it. Until.....

What is it about MySpace and other blogging sites that brings the worst out of SOME people? People hiding behind their computers and behaving like they would not if people really know them? Fakes - living a life they only WISH they could live. I don't get it. With me - what you see is what you get. Yeah....that is my real picture and my real name. I am REALLY married, REALLY retired from the Florida Dept of Corrections, REALLY a dedicated Christian and I REALLY write my own Christian compositions. Many of my writings are about past experiences that enabled me to grow - spiritually, emotionally, in maturity or any combination thereof. I am REAL...

I came to MyBloggers.com hoping to find a kinder, gentler, more pleasant group of people. Don't get me wrong... I made a lot of friends on MySpace and I am STILL on MySpace. It's just unfortunate that one MS "friend" is probably a little nuts...OK...maybe I think she is more than a "little" nuts. She took almost all the fun out of MySpace for me. Other friends were hurt as direct result of her actions and several have dropped away. Now there remains a small handful of friends who are still friends. We went from a group of approximately 40 "friends" to only 5 or 6 of us who stay in touch with each other. Sad...

I stayed on MySpace - and am still on MySpace - for one reason... I am a Christian writer living out my retirement dream. I worked hard, in a complicated and demanding job, for 36 years - dreaming of the day I would have time to dedicate to writing. I have arrived and I intend to stay.

So, my take on all of these blog sites (I am on a few) is this: If you want to be a real friend - OK, but I am NOT codependant - I am not here to FIX anyone - I am short on patience with NEEDY people and I HATE DRAMA. I am a normal, happy, retired housewife who likes to write. And, I do enjoy my cyber friends who are NOT "high maintenance" friends. I want to share the insight the Lord has given to me during my quiet times. I just want to be REAL.

Friends welcome - fakes stay away because I already had all the cyber drama that I can stand!
