I am so happy to hear about the increased kidney function. I am also glad to see your recognition of the Dodgers Yasiel Puig since he was called up from the Chattanooga Lookouts earlier this year. Unfortunately the Lookouts have suffered from his loss. The few games I have been to were fun but losses. The beer, hotdog and peanuts were well worth it though.

That is an interesting observation. I am a macro but would like to become a micro.

As I type this comment I'm drinking a great Stout brewed right here in Tennessee. I'm considering a short walk to grab a few cheese Krystal's. Oh and did I mention I have tickets for the Lookouts game on Fourth of July which will be followed by Fireworks. Gosh Steve sure wish you were here

Steve remember Camp Swatonah? One of the weekly activities was horse back riding. Everyone loved it except me. I was petrified. We rode on these very narrow mountain trails. I just knew my horse would fall off the side of the cliff. When I wasn't worried about the fall, I was worried the horse was going to bite my leg off. The horses spent most of the trail ride nipping at the riders legs. These aren't fun memories.

I always talk to my cats and ask them to remind me of this appointment or that needed grocery item. Of course they never do. Either their memory is as bad as mine or possibly it's because they're cats!

Wow what a memory that brings back. Just looking at the photo brings that wonderful aroma back to mind. I can picture stacks of molasses cookies with wax paper between each layer. What a great memory. Thanks Steve.

That quote by Augustine Birrell reminds me of an old Twilight Zone episode. The one where the old guy escapes each day to the bank vault where he can be alone and read. A bomb hits one day while he's in there and he is the only survivor. When he finally ventures out, he heads through the shambles to find what's left of the public library where he finds hundreds and hundreds of books scattered all over. After gathering all the books he wants for months of happy reading he settles in with his first book. He opens his first book, looks down to read and his glasses fall off his nose and shatter.

So I guess the moral is you better start reading those books while you can

I love Buca di Beppo. They have one in Austin that I've been to a couple times on business trips. I wish Chattanooga had one. I can taste the eggplant parmesan.
