Working Hard for His Privileges
Working Hard for His Privileges
So far, this cold has gotten a tiny bit better. No more headaches when I cough or body aches. Now, I am just blowing my nose alot and coughing.
I am still didn't let my child attend school today, so it will make this day a full suspension for him. It is his first one this year.
At around 8am, he had already had breakfast and has written on paper "I will not swear." and "I will not hit." five times each...he will do more later on that. He is Autistic as well, so I don't want to overdue it at one time. He has even brought me the box of tissue and a blanket to me without me asking for them. He has even finished cleaning his room. I also have some other set chores for him to do around the house which will help out greatly since I am not feeling good.
I have also decided that he will still be grounded this weekend but if I see improvements through out the weekend, some privileges will be slowly given to him. However, if he acts up, those will be taken away from him again and he will have to earn them back (basically...start over).
I basically got fed up with his behavior, so I decided that instead of just grounded him for the day like I usually do when something of this nature happens (It's usually not this bad for the most part), but he is going to have to learn somehow or another to be respectful to other people and learn to keep his hands to himself.
He also has the tendency to forget real easy (or chooses not to remember), so another thing is I will be doing is asking him here and there of why he thinks he's grounded and what he should do or not do to be in this position again.
To some, this might sound strict, but with him, you have to be repeditive so that it processes in his mind.
So lets hope it all smooths out today and this weekend...
