We were extremely slow at work, and it was most likely because it was the first day of SUMMERFEST. My fiancee picked me up from work. But instead of going home right away, he got an ice cream from the ice cream truck and we headed to the lakefront to walk around. We had the dog with as well.
Anyways, after that, we had my friend, her husband, their two kids, and her step-dad over to hang out. Since it was the first day of Summerfest, we knew their was going to be fireworks going on. When the fireworks happened, we all went out in the backyard to watch The Big Bang (that is what it is called) happen. My son was having a bad evening and just not behaving, so he was to sleep earlier and besides, they didn't go off til about 11pm. However, my fiancee recorded it for him on telelvision so that he could still see it (I let him watch them this morning).
Also, my friend's step dad (he's like 43 years old or something) was on the garage roof which is side by side with our backyard and kind of fell off of it...which was only about 4 feet maybe and landed on his back about half that way down. He appeared to be fine, but he was drinking a bit with us and wasn't really feeling any pain until this morning, so he went to the hospital to have it checked out. I guess it's not super serious though....well not totally sure, but we will see when he gets back. My friend Kristi, will probably call me and tell me later or something. Besides that, it was fun and we watched all the cars leave in slow motion on our street with them all heading towards the highway (freeway...whatever).
I took my digital camera and am in the process of making a short video on it, so maybe you all might get to see it later today.
