I know a lot of people use bird netting to keep pests away form their gardens and birds from stealing fruit off of their trees. Until this past summer, I had only used it to cover the top of my chicken lot to keep my chickens from flying out.
I was having trouble with the deer eating my flowers I had planted in WV, so I decided to surround the bed with bird netting. Unfortunately, I caught something in it. I caught an eastern hog-nosed snake, also known as a puff adder. He/She was so tangled up , I wondered if I could ever get him out.
It wasn't a pleasant task trying to remove a pissed off snake from all of that nylon string. If we had not gone there that weekend, the snake would have died for sure.
So, please be careful when using this stuff. I wont ever use it for fencing again.
