I have 3 elderly equines at my home. I supervise their care, but am not able to do much with them anymore because of my own health.
I am using a complete senior feed, calf manna, and alfalfa.
One of them, a 34 yr old pony mare looks very well. The 27 yr old gelding has a harder time. He has "choked" before.
He will look fat ans sassy and then start loosing weight very rapidly. I change around his feel a little bit and he gets better. I don't know if he might be getting choke and I'm not catching it or what.
Anyway, if anyone has any experience with older horses, I would love to hear about your ideas and solutions.
