I feel boxed in to my job/career, teaching, because I have experience with other things, but not training. For example, I'm a pretty good web designer, but I've never been formally trained. I am a great photographer, but have no formal work experience to qualify for an upper level position.

Real estate was really great for me (also very stressful) for years, but that's over until the market comes up some. One of the big perks about teaching is the vacations. Getting a true vacation where you can totally disconnect from work is rare. Next to impossible in real estate. I'm just trying to really ENJOY that perk.

Oh my gosh...this is the funniest thing I've seen since he visited Missouri and said that he would have FEMA people on the ground so that the "people will feel like someone cares about them." What a moron.

The icing on the cake is that pretty up your tomboy commercial at the end. Nice!

Wow. I'm glad someone is keeping track of this! I love to watch McCain speak on tv. I'm convinced that the more he speaks, the more people must realize what an idiot he is...and THEN I remember Bush.

I particularly like the sound byte CNN kept playing yesterday (or was that today?!) where McCain repeats that Obama wants to raise taxes, capital gains taxes being one of them. In other words, McCain wants to keep those tax breaks for the rich. It's pretty pathetic that Warren Buffett pays less taxes than his own secretary. Why not use people who have gained to get ourselves back on track, instead of giving them a 35% break?

When I read this, it was like you reached into my brain and pulled out my thoughts. Not about the pregnancy, but about the relationship. I DID finally tell my mom my thoughts, in what I thought was a very mature and straightforward mannger, and received nothing but passive aggressive behavior in return. "I can't figure out why you're mad at me." I haven't spoken to her in about a year and a half.

I have relied on my mother in law for my mother/daughter relationship. It has been much more satisfying. Not perfect. But we can have actual conversations where she listens and responds, instead of pretending to listen and changes the topic, because it isn't about her.

How did it go for you? Did you ever say anything?
