I was born in 1933 and by age five I knew the make and year of every car on the road. My Dad was a "Ford Person", and his brother was a "General Motors Guy" (Chevrolet). That's how things were. You picked your team and stuck with it!
I loved looking at cars (and still do!). I started hitch-hiking when I was about 13, and kept a diary of every car I rode in. The all-time winner-ride was a new, 1941, maroon, Cadillac convertable, (top down) that stopped for me one sunny day ... taking me those three miles from our house into town. I can still see the red leather seats and the driver who looked like a Hollywood actor.
I've owned, driven, and lusted over many a vehicle. Great memories ... (I'm like an aging celeb, who remembers the "affairs" they've had).
One thing sort of bothers me ...how did I end up with a boring, 2005, Dodge Neon sedan? Somewhere along the way I got practical.
