Today I spent visiting my mother. She's a remarkable woman. I can only hope that when I'm seventy-nine years old that my mind is as good as hers. We were playing a game of Scrabble while waiting for our laundry to finish and she was coming up with amazing words. Most of my words added up to so few points that in the end, she didn't even bother adding up our total score to see who won, it was pretty obvious who the winner was. I love the game but losing to her so often is affecting my self-esteem haha. Next time, I told her, we're playing Jenga.
On a totally unrelated note...
It snowed! I've lived in Wisconsin my entire life and yet I still was shocked to wake up and discover wet, sloshy snow on my driveway. I know that the weather had reported that a "Winter Storm Warning" was in effect for all of my area, but come on, miracles sometimes happen. I was hoping that I'd wake up to discover green grass (well, yellow-ish green grass) and a dry parking area. Oh well. At least we didn't get the 7-11 inches they were predicting.
