Colorado


We usually go on vacation about once a year. Like, I'm talking about our big vacation. We also go on mini vacations too. After all, we're retired. With all the volunteer stuff we do, we need a vacation once in awhile. You may think that it takes a lot of money to travel; but we found that the extra money needed is mostly for motels and gas. The food money comes right out of our budget. We travel by car, or minivan. We don't eat at expensive places. One or two of our meals each day are gotten from a supermarket or gas station. We don't buy a lot of souvenirs. If it is a place we really want to remember, we buy a T shirt, or a cup. I have quite a collection. Sometimes we find gifts for Christmas, or birthdays. We take a lot of pictures and video. I'm thinking about Canada, and about Yellowstone, and Mt. Rushmore. We have been in the South, and the Southwest; but we want to go out to the Northwest. We've been to Canada, but not Northwestern Canada. I hope we can go this summer.



This is Santa Fe. I told Art, I wanted him get off the highway there; or at least slow down so I could get some pictures!



This is where we stayed, in Flagstaff, Arizona. We were in kind of a hurry on this vacation, because we were going to Texas by way of the Grand Canyon, and Mexico. You see, every year, for several years we had to spend part of our big vacations in Texas visiting two of our five daughters who were going to school for their Dr.s degrees. That takes a long time. Finally now maybe we can go some other places!

This is me, on the beach in Galveston. We went there to see our daughter,Chris; she was going to Medical School there.

Well, I could show you more; but maybe another time. When I got to talking about Chris, I kind of lost my train of thought. Chris went back to Texas. She moved back, because she missed living there. I think she likes it so much that she will probably stay. Maybe now she can visit us, so we don't always have to vacation there; and we can go other places.
