Rising Costs

With these rising fuel costs I'm really debating on wheather to get any propane or not cause the last time I checked on the price it was 3$ a gal. & that was a month ago,  I've been hearing it suppose to go to 4$ a gal. I sure hope not,  I whined back in november when it was 2.64 a gal. It's not like I use a lot but it's quite a chunk of change when I do get it being on a fixed income, I could put that money into other things where it's more needed,  Well I suppose if they keep rising I'll quit using it & go to a cheaper form to heat my hot water & cook with, I already heat with wood, I'll just add a water jacket to the wood stove to heat my hot water in the winter months ought to save a little bit there, years back I switched everything to propane cause it was cheaper then eletric but I'm getting to wonder now if that was a wise move or not, maybe I should start checking into solar energy for my next step to keep my costs down, & it's better for the earth.         Everyone Have a Great Day!! ;)~

I turned off my propane three months ago and put up shrink wrap on my windows and placed curtains in the hallways! It defiantly hurt this year when I opened my propane bill and almost hit the floor! Being on a fixed income myself I turned to getting a electric discount and heated my home with the electric stove! I am telling you what a difference when my electric bill came in at $50.00 rather than $396.00 for propane! I hope next year is better!

I know your pain. This is awful and it is only a trend. The inflation won't be over anytime soon. All winter my thermostat was set at 66 days and 62 nights. I wear layers. Still, my gas heating bills have been at record highs ($300-350 a month and up) even though I shut all the upstairs doors (no heat up there.) I only drive here in town for absolute necessities. What are people on tightly fixed incomes going to do?

They get to vote this coming November, but by then they may be in the poorhouse!
