Trying to decide whether or not we had it better in our day growing up compared to today's kids with all the Apps they have at their fingertips.
I remember asking my Mum for money to go to the Chinese Take-away which was at least a Mile and a half's Trek away. The TREK was the best part. We'd walk further if we needed too for the reward! Knocking on our mates door, making an event out of it, secretly hoping to spy that crush 😠*you know what I mean! ðŸ˜
Today kids can get their Rewards from using Apps. Apps for everything. Apps for bus time tables, Google for Library's and you can even get your favourite Take away from Just Eat. If you if you fancied a KFC or a Mcdonalds - you can Uber it! "I've personally witnessed from my lot the frustration of having to get a better signal from the WIFI to track the lateness of their Pizza here in my house - my WARM...DRY...WINDPROOF house! Looking at them f***ing daft after they moaned they had to stand by the garden gate in the rain because the delivery driver can't get his shit together!
I swear the world would F***ing END if their phone died durring a Powercut!! 🤯
So to conclude, Yes, I think we had it better!
During the 2020 pandemic lockdowns when our local restaurants could only provide curb pickup service, they relied heavily on text messages to let people know when the order was ready and the customer could leave their car and come grab their bag of food (and liquor laws were changed to allow cocktails to-go). At that time, I didn't have a cell phone signal at my house here in the mountains, so no cell phone/no texting. I had to buy pizza for the neighbors as well as myself so I could have the texts sent to their phone and they could pick it up.
