Guided and Protected by Jesus

Date: Thursday, July 31, 2014
Today's Chapters: Isaiah 39-41
Message Title: Guided And Protected By Jesus

An amazing things happens the second we put our soul in the hands of our Lord, Jesus Christ, we become His, and nothing or no one can separate us from Him. Jesus is our shepherd, the second we receive Him as our Savior He reaches down His arms, grabs a hold of us, and never lets go of us. When you build your life upon the sure foundation of Christ all your cares, worries, and sorrows become His and it is only through Him that you can truly find peace and prosperity as you let Him be your guide. “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.” - Matthew 11:30. Praise God!

Hezekiah was a godly and wise man, he saw one miracle after an other because of his faithfulness to God, which brought a lot of fame his way, nations all over the world wanted to come and pay tribute to him. However, he made one mistake that would cause a problem for his family. After he was miraculously healed, he had a visit in which he let his enemy see everything he had, possessions, weaponry, everything. “Then said Isaiah to Hezekiah, Hear the word of the LORD of hosts: Behold, the days come, that all that is in thine house, and that which thy fathers have laid up in store until this day, shall be carried to Babylon: nothing shall be left, saith the LORD. And of thy sons that shall issue from thee, which thou shalt beget, shall they take away; and they shall be eunuchs in the palace of the king of Babylon. Then said Hezekiah to Isaiah, Good is the word of the LORD which thou hast spoken. He said moreover, For there shall be peace and truth in my days.” - Isaiah 39:5-8.

Hezekiah erred in showing the enemy everything that he possessed, by doing so, he exposed all the nations strengths and weaknesses, which would give Babylon an advantage to invade them. Hezekiah did not get mad at God, he took His word for what it was, and accepted the punishment. God's judgments may seem a bit cruel sometimes, but they are just, and often a reminder that the decisions we make impact everyone around us, not just us. Although God did foretell Judah's captivity to Babylon He did promise that it would not last. We learn of the amazing coming of our Savior and His help in delivering us from our iniquities. “The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain: And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it. Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him. He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.” -Isaiah 40:3-5,10,11.

Just like a shepherd that protects his sheep from the dangers of the world, Jesus, our Shepherd, protects every soul that has accepted Him. There is only one Christ, who will be revealed to all that He is none other than God Himself in the flesh, and only He can save us from judgment. “Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall: But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” - Isaiah 40:28-31.

Through Isaiah, God reminds Israel that He has chosen them to be His people, and that their judgment came from worshiping idols and false gods. God encourages Israel to look to the only redeemer to pardon them of the judgment they faced, and that He will be with all who do. “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness. Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish. Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them, even them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought. For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee. Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.” - Isaiah 41:10-14.

The Holy One of Israel, Jesus Christ Himself, not only saves us from judgment, but also gives us strength and helps us overcome even the earthly judgment we face. Jesus is the only one who can redeem, save a soul headed for hell, but He did not come here just for the Jews, He came here for all mankind. “For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;” - Romans 1:16-18.

God is not only the God of the Jews, He is the God of all, He created all people through two people, Adam and Eve. It is time that all see this truth and come to the acknowledgment of the Son, because no matter how many people try to deny it, Christ is coming and His judgment is upon all mankind. “In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.” - 1 Corinthians 15:52-54,57.

Today's Prayer: God, You truly are the Almighty God, time and time again you have proved that You have the power to do and make anything happen. Let me never forget the joy of my salvation and what you have brought me out of. Work in the hearts of those who are struggling and help them know the joy and comfort that I have as I serve You. Lord, open my heart and eyes to serve you in sincerity and truth just as you serve me. I love you Lord and ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
