So I don't understand coaches all the time. Yes, I was one at the high school level years ago, but now that I am on an athletics staff that interacts with coaches and athletes, I have the advantage of stepping back and taking a look at what is going on and I often times ask myself...what are they thinking? For example, yesterday during a practice practice..2 days before a game, the coaches decide its a great idea to run the team into the ground. They lined the entire team up on a sideline and ran them to the other sideline and back..and they have to make it in 18 seconds or do it again. Well they must have done it at least 20 times. I understand the point of making sure your athletes are paying attention and are fit, but there is one week left in the regular season and a hugely important two game stretch coming up. If we win the next two they are conference champs and a #1 seed...wouldnt you want to preserve your kids legs as much as possible so they win?

Its just one of the many many things that make me shake my head with the things that they do. I wont ever understand everything, but at least it makes for good stories.
