Today we are reading about the Lamb; the messages of three angels, the harvest of the earthl and preparation of the seven vials of wrath poured upon the earth. Today's message focuses on the importance of knowing that among a world of chaos it's wonderful to know that we will stand with Jesus.
In the midst of world chaos, John is led to report good news. "And I looked, and, lo, a Lamb stood on the mount Sion, and with him an hundred forty and four thousand, having his Father's name written in their foreheads. And I heard a voice from heaven, as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of a great thunder: and I heard the voice of harpers harping with their harps: And they sung as it were a new song before the throne, and before the four beasts, and the elders: and no man could learn that song but the hundred and forty and four thousand, which were redeemed from the earth. These are they which were not defiled with women; for they are virgins. These are they which follow the Lamb whithersoever he goeth. These were redeemed from among men, being the firstfruits unto God and to the Lamb. And in their mouth was found no guile: for they are without fault before the throne of God." (Revelation 14:1-5). The Lamb is the triumphant Jesus Christ and Mount Zion is the location of His Temple. His sheep, whom Satan cannot deceive, are the undefiled.
It is the Lord Jesus Christ who should be at the center in our churches, but sadly many are not. It is of great importance that we teach the truth before we are faced with His judgement. "And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters." (14:6-7).
We may dislike the thoughts of hell and its torment, but it is something that we can not escape. Refusing to accept this truth only hurts us as we face eternal seperation from God, we dare not disregard what God has revealed.
Eternal separation from God is the inevitable consequence of refusing to receive Christ as Savior and Lord. John records what all who refuse to know Christ will face. "And the third angel followed them, saying with a loud voice, If any man worship the beast and his image, and receive his mark in his forehead, or in his hand, The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name." (14:9-11).
Christ explained very clearly the everlasting destiny of both the saved and the lost in The Bible. That Book tells how to gain the most out of this life as well as telling about the heavenly rewards He has provided for all who love Him.
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
We confess that it is often easier to be busy about Your kingdom than it is to sit at the feet of the King. Intensify our desire to set aside a segment of each day to be a sacred time with You so that we faithfully read Your Holy Word and prayerfully commune with You. It is in communion with You that we grow in our love and devotion and we become mindful of the great things You do for us. In Jesus' name........Amen.
Enjoy the rest of your day/night.
God Bless You,
Christina
