Liberal Sda == Uu?

As a born-and-raised Seventh-Day Adventist turned secular humanist and now attending a Unitarian Universalist congregation, I had to chuckle this evening when I read this comment by Clifford Goldstein (A prolific and well-known Adventist author and theologian), where he's reacts to a critique by Alexander Carpenter (Regular blogger at Spectrum Magazine):

"I admit that I find the liberal perspective in Adventism utterly illogical, contradictory and impossible for me to comprehend. I think to myself when I read some of this stuff, Why do these people bother with Adventism? Become Seventh-dau Unitarians or something, but why in the world Adventists?"

There's quite a bit more context, so take a gander if you like.
