Message: Be
Not Weary In Waiting

Hello
My Friend,

Weary, Having
the patience exhausted, or the mind yielding to discouragement. I
always considered myself to be a patient person, but the last couple
of years I have come to realize I am not very patient at all. I can
get so frustrated with what seems like constant work with no results
that I do get weary. I am not alone, we all get weary, especially of
the mind when trying to live the life we are given and have obstacles
along the way. While waiting is not something we like doing, it is
something we have to do if we want God’s besides, waiting actually
gives us things quicker than if we go ahead of God. “
Hast
thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the
LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is
weary? there is no searching of his understanding. But they that wait
upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with
wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall
walk, and not faint.

- Isaiah 40:28,31.

While
most days reading God’s Word teaches me or reminds me of something
I need to know, some days God screams things at me, things that I
truly needed to be reminded of. Today is one of those screaming days.
You see, I spent half the day on Saturday buying supplies for a cake
that someone special ordered. She wanted to pick it up Sunday
afternoon around the time I would be at choir practice at church, I
prayed for an early pick up. She called early and I thought my
prayers were answered. Well, Not only did she send me a text that she
had to turn back on her way to pick it up, I no longer had a way to
get to church. So, here I am on a Sunday afternoon, no choir
practice, no church, and a cake that is just sitting on the table. I
did not praise God or thank Him, I began crying, asking God what I
had to do for Him to stop giving me all this hope and it was gone.

Why
am I telling you this story? I got weary. I have been fighting with
this issue for some time now, I am convinced that God is mad at me
and everyone around me is suffering because of it. Now, what is the
truth? God is not mad at me, perhaps the only issue He has is that I
have been doing what Job had been doing, trying to justify myself. I
imagine Job felt weary also, and now God Himself appeared and was
asking him impossible questions.
Then
Job answered the LORD, and said, Behold, I am vile; what shall I
answer thee? I will lay mine hand upon my mouth. Once have I spoken;
but I will not answer: yea, twice; but I will proceed no further.
Then answered the LORD unto Job out of the whirlwind, and said, Gird
up thy loins now like a man: I will demand of thee, and declare thou
unto me. Wilt thou also disannul my judgment? wilt thou condemn me,
that thou mayest be righteous? Hast thou an arm like God? or canst
thou thunder with a voice like him? Deck thyself now with majesty and
excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty. Cast abroad the
rage of thy wrath: and behold every one that is proud, and abase him.
Look on every one that is proud, and bring him low; and tread down
the wicked in their place.

- Job 40:3-12.

and
tread down the wicked in their place.

When you stop to think about all that God has to deal with from man
you can understand what He has to deal with. It is not like He pulls
our names out of a hat and says I will grant this one this, He puts a
great deal of consideration into what He does with each one of us.
Things we think are flaws, birth defects, rare disorders, distorted
body images, God had a reason for making us the way He did, He is not
condemning, punishing, or making us suffer, He is making us stronger,
hopeful, and faithful. As for the proud and wicked, God deals with
them too, we may not see the judgment, but God is very patient, they
will have their reward for their deeds. “
Yet
if
any
man suffer
as a Christian, let him not be ashamed; but let him glorify God on
this behalf. For the time
is
come
that judgment must begin at the house of God: and if it first begin at us, what shall the end be of them that obey not the gospel of God? And if the righteous
scarcely be saved, where shall the ungodly and the sinner appear?
Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit
the keeping of their souls
to
him
in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
- 1 Peter 4:16-19.

God
continues, He describes one of the most powerful beasts He created,
the leviathan, a very large, strong, fish-like, serpent,
water-animal, many claim it to be a crocodile or whale, but neither
of these are correct, and the entire description proves it is
something of much greater strength and size.
Canst
thou draw out leviathan with an hook? or his tongue with a cord
which thou lettest down? Behold,
the hope of him is in vain: shall not one be cast down even at the
sight of him? None is so fierce that dare stir him up: who then is
able to stand before me? Who hath prevented me, that I should repay
him? whatsoever is under the whole heaven is mine. I will not conceal
his parts, nor his power, nor his comely proportion. Who can discover
the face of his garment? or who can come to him with his double
bridle? Who can open the doors of his face? his teeth are terrible
round about.

- Job 41:1,9-14.

who
then is able to stand before me?

The most powerful beast on earth cannot compare to the power of God.
He is God, He does not have to explain Himself. Science has the idea
that it can prove how everything was made, especially life itself. It
is natural to want to know how things are made and function, but it
is unnatural to question the Maker. There are some things that we are
not meant to know for instance, a life forming in the womb, we can
see images of the stages in which God creates life, but there is no
possible way to know how organs and bones formed in the womb. Science
is good at recreating some amazing things to sustain life, but it
will never compare to the power of God. “
For
it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring
to nothing the understanding of the prudent. Where
is the wise? where is the scribe? where is the disputer of this world? hath not God made foolish the wisdom of
this world? For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom
knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save
them that believe.

- I Corinthians 1:19-21.

Job
could not say anything, but acknowledge that there are many things in
this world that cannot be explained. “
I
know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be
withholden from thee. Who is he that hideth counsel without
knowledge? therefore have I uttered that I understood not; things too
wonderful for me, which I knew not. Hear, I beseech thee, and I will
speak: I will demand of thee, and declare thou unto me. I have heard
of thee by the hearing of the ear: but now mine eye seeth thee.
Wherefore I abhor myself, and repent in dust and ashes. And it was
so, that after the LORD had spoken these words unto Job, the LORD
said to Eliphaz the Temanite, My wrath is kindled against thee, and
against thy two friends: for ye have not spoken of me the thing that
is right, as my servant Job hath. Therefore take unto you now seven
bullocks and seven rams, and go to my servant Job, and offer up for
yourselves a burnt offering; and my servant Job shall pray for you:
for him will I accept: lest I deal with you after your folly, in that
ye have not spoken of me the thing which is right, like my servant
Job.

- Job 42:2-8.

and
my servant Job shall pray for you:

One of the most powerful things we can do is pray for others. Pray
for our friends, even our enemies, pray for people we never even met.
When we pray for others, especially those who are misinformed, God
blesses us. God brought Job to the realization that he was not meant
to know all the answers to life's problems, he just had to trust Him
and keep living the life he had been living. After Job was put to the
test and passed, his friends did not, God confronted them on the way
they treated him. Job was blessed with double of what he lost after
he prayed for his friends. We too must come to the place where we
realize we do not know all the answers. God knows what He is doing,
every trial, every circumstance, every situation we get into, is not
by chance, it is all to get us to realize that we have a bigger God
than our situation. “
For
which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the
inward
man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a
moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding
and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are
seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are
seen
are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
- II Corinthians 4:16-18.

Today's
Prayer
:
God, I know that your hand is in everything and I am trusting You to
get me through every trial I face. I admit sometimes instead of
handing
things over to You I get impatient and prolong things more. Lord,
give me Your power to let go of the fight to try to handle it all on
my own and just hand it all over to You. Give me patience to wait for
You and let me not get weary in serving You. Let me find comfort
through the unpleasant experiences I am facing and remind me to pray
for everyone You put on my mind. In Jesus' name. Amen.

God
Bless You, I am praying for you,

Christina
