Seeking Jesus

Date: Monday, August 04, 2014
Today's Chapters: Isaiah 52-56
Message Title: Seeking Jesus

Jesus Christ, the Son of God came here to save sinners, while He would love to save all, He does not because not all admit they are sinners or want Him to save them. In the blink of an eye, we are here and gone, in the blink of an eye, Jesus will be here and all will be gone, a few will remain, a few will return, the few are those whom have accepted the Holy One of Israel, the few who listened to His voice and were saved while He could be found. “Seek ye the LORD while he may be found, call ye upon him while he is near: Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return unto the LORD, and he will have mercy upon him; and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.” - Isaiah 55:6-9.

My thoughts are not your thoughts, what an amazing epiphany. The human mind could never comprehend the things that God knows and does. We would explode if we had all the knowledge of God, but I imagine we would truly understand His ways. We have to look at God as a parent, one who loves their child so much that it pains and grieves them to see them living in such a way that is shameful. A parent would do anything to save their child from making bad decisions and suffering from them, but even a parent has to let go and let the child suffer in order to see that they need to change their way. That is why God sent Jesus, He knew that the flesh will make some bad decisions. Through Isaiah, another prophecy of Jesus revealed, this time of the humble, meek, plain looking man, all would come to know.

“Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.” - Isaiah 53:1-5,10.

Jesus Christ, born of a virgin, took on the life of a servant and became the sinless sacrifice who would bare the burden of every sin of His believers, past, present, and future. He took the beatings, the rejections, and the grief that every one of us deserves. He became middle man that would bare our sin so we can be righteous in the eyes of God. “How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.” - Hebrews 9:14,15.

Since God's thoughts are different from our own, naturally the flesh is not going to see eye to eye on the way He handles some things. Fear not, our Maker, Redeemer, the only and only, Jesus Christ, is here. While we may have to suffer here on earth for living in sin, it will not last, because God's mercy endures. “Fear not; for thou shalt not be ashamed: neither be thou confounded; for thou shalt not be put to shame: for thou shalt forget the shame of thy youth, and shalt not remember the reproach of thy widowhood any more. For thy Maker is thine husband; the LORD of hosts is his name; and thy Redeemer the Holy One of Israel; The God of the whole earth shall he be called. For the LORD hath called thee as a woman forsaken and grieved in spirit, and a wife of youth, when thou wast refused, saith thy God. For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee. For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.” - Isaiah 54:4-7,10.

There is not one person on earth, that when someone has done them wrong does not want to go after them and make them suffer for what they have done. While some of us handle it more humanly than others, many do, in fact, have no mercy on their accuser. Imagine how many people would be on earth today if none of us had mercy? Imagine how many people would be on earth today if God had no mercy? There would be none of us here because our mercy does not endure, but God's does. “Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh. Grudge not one against another, brethren, lest ye be condemned: behold, the judge standeth before the door. Take, my brethren, the prophets, who have spoken in the name of the Lord, for an example of suffering affliction, and of patience. Behold, we count them happy which endure. Ye have heard of the patience of Job, and have seen the end of the Lord; that the Lord is very pitiful, and of tender mercy.” - James 5:8-11.

So many people are brought up to believe that their religion, name, or power can save them. It's no mystery that from the time that sin entered the world God already had a plan for not only the Jews, but the Gentiles (anyone not a Jew) as well. All throughout the Old Testament, Gentiles were pardoned for their sins, just as we are today. Through Isaiah, God reminds the Jews that Jesus will be sent for all who believe, and while righteousness does not save nor keep us saved, it is really the only way we can understand that God has a much greater plan for us.

“Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil. Neither let the son of the stranger, that hath joined himself to the LORD, speak, saying, The LORD hath utterly separated me from his people: neither let the eunuch say, Behold, I am a dry tree. For thus saith the LORD unto the eunuchs that keep my sabbaths, and choose the things that please me, and take hold of my covenant; Even unto them will I give in mine house and within my walls a place and a name better than of sons and of daughters: I will give them an everlasting name, that shall not be cut off. Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant;” - Isaiah 56:1-6.

When I first got saved, I use to think that since God knew everything, that He even picks and chooses who will believe in Him and get saved. This was partly because of the false religion I was brought up in, but now I know that this is incorrect. While God does know what's going at all times, each person has their own choice to believe or not to believe, that choice determines their future. Of course, God would love for every soul to believe in His Son, but that is not the case. No matter how many times He recreates the heavens and earth, there will always be someone rebellious to Him, thus resulting in the mess we are in today. That is why Jesus will return and get rid of sin once and for all, but until that time we who do believe have to be the ones to set the example for others to follow. We cannot reach everyone, but once in a while, God will break through a hardened heart and they will be saved. “He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.” - 1 John 5:12,13.

Today's Prayer: God, While I do not understand all Your ways, I do understand that You reveal things to us as we are ready to know them, and you have a reason and purpose for everything You do and allow. I am going to be short and simple today, all I ask is for Your Power, give me Your Power God. Give me Your power. It is only through Your power that I can even get up in the morning. Give me Your power in every area of my life. I love You, Lord and ask this in Jesus' name. Amen.

God Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
