Message Title: God Made It Possible
Hello
My Friend,
I make a bridal shower cake and it came our
absolutely beautiful, I posted it all over Facebook. Every time I
have great success in something I tear up, not because I did such a
great job, but because I know without God it would not be possible.
You see, God wants us to do a job well done, after all we are His
kids and He is just as proud as every parent who sees their child
succeed, but He also wants us to be humble about it. Be proud of the
abilities that God gave you to do the job, but not too proud that we
forget that God made it possible. “Whether
therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory
of God. Give none offence, neither to the Jews, nor to the Gentiles,
nor to the church of God: Even as I please all men in all things, not
seeking mine own profit, but the profit of many, that they may be
saved.” - 1 Corinthians 10:31-33.
“but
the profit of many, that they may be saved.” Our successes
in life draw crowds, many from the world, and while we may make a
profit on those of the world, our main focus is not to make money,
but to see people get saved, and God will take care of the rest. We
must be careful when seeking careers and or provisions, there are
just some things we need to stay away from. We don't just serve God
in the church, everywhere we go we serve Him, and if we are doing
something questionable, it's God we have to answer. Paul came
concerned with the Galatians when he heard that they were drawing
back to worldly and wicked behavior.
“Wherefore
thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of
God through Christ. Howbeit then, when ye knew not God, ye did
service unto them which by nature are no gods. But now, after that ye
have known God, or rather are known of God, how turn ye again to the
weak and beggarly elements, whereunto ye desire again to be in
bondage? Ye observe days, and months, and times, and years. I am
afraid of you, lest I have bestowed upon you labour in vain.
Brethren, I beseech you, be as I am; for I am as ye are: ye have not
injured me at all. Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell
you the truth?” - Galatians 4:7-12,16.
“Ye
observe days, and months, and times, and years.” I have to
admit that there was a time in my life before I followed Christ, that
I read tarot cards, and oh they were so accurate, but I didn't live
by them as true. One day something really weird happened and I knew
right then it was wicked and immediately got rid of everything I had
concerning them. Horoscopes, fortune telling, tarot, physics, these
are all from the devil, following these things is stepping into very
dangerous territory and will bring judgment from God. “Be
not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that
shall he also reap.” - Galatians 6:7.
If
you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Saviour you can rejoice
because you're free. Free from hell, free from the devil, free from
the guilt of sin, and free from bondage to the world. Praise God!
Wait a minute, are you sure you're free? This is where many
Christians keep themselves in bondage, they want a better life and
know that they need to do something to change it, but out of fear,
rebellion, or rejection by others, they allow the world to keep
controlling them. Paul stresses the importance of never using our abilities to satisfy our own fleshly lusts.
“Stand
fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and
be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage. For, brethren, ye
have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion
to the flesh, but by love serve one another. For all the law is
fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbour as
thyself. But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be
not consumed one of another. This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and
ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh. For the flesh lusteth
against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh: and these are
contrary the one to the other: so that ye cannot do the things that
ye would. But if ye be led of the Spirit, ye are not under the law.”
- Galatians 5:1,13-18.
“Walk in
the Spirit,” Is there something from your
past or even going on right now
that continues to hold you bondage? Even though we are saved, the
devil loves to keep
us in bondage to our weaknesses, fears, desires, and failures in
life, by walking in the Spirit we can beat the devil down. It's time
to come out of captivity and be free from all our burdens, including,
any guilt, shame, weaknesses, and fears. “For
as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.
For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye
have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father.
The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the
children of God: And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and
joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we
may be also glorified together.” -
Romans 8:14-17.
We can give thanks to God that through
our faith in Jesus Christ we are no longer under the bondage of dead
works. Now, we are filled with the Holy Spirit and He allows us to be
fruitful in all that we do as we grow in Christ and give Him the
glory for all the success we have. We must realize that we are not
replaceable, we are blessed as we follow Christ in all that we do,
but if we lose sight of Him we will be replaced. Paul reminds the
Galatians that while they are to do everything with the best of
quality and their abilities, but not to forget that their glory comes
from God.
“Brethren, if a
man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an
one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be
tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of
Christ. For if a man think himself to be something, when he is
nothing, he deceiveth himself. But let every man prove his own work,
and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in
another. For every man shall bear his own burden. Let him that is
taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good
things. But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our
Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto
the world.” - Galatians 6:1-6,14.
“But
let every man prove his own work,” While our godly works in
the world can't save us, they can help us grow as strong, faithful
men and women of God. A life with Christ is not simply one of being
good, but of doing good for the glory of God. It manifests itself,
not by taking a “more holier than thou” attitude, but by bearing
the burdens of others and seizing every opportunity to help fellow
saints and reach others with the Gospel. As God blesses us with
success let us bless others through our faith in Christ. “Blessed
is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor
standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the
scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law
doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted
by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season;
his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall
prosper.” - Psalms 1:1-3.
Today's
Prayer: God, thank You for setting me free from the
bondage of sin the world when I came to You and trusted Your Son as
my Saviour. Lord, I want everything I do to be for Your glory, as I
know that without You I am nothing and any success I have will be
worthless one day. The burden I am carrying right now is too much for
me to handle, I have tried so long to handle it in my own way, but
keep failing. I need You, Lord. Take the weight of my burdens off me,
give me the peace I know only comes from You as I live for You. I ask
this in Jesus' name. Amen.
God Bless You, I am praying
for you,
Christina
