Message Title: When Trouble Comes
Hello
My Friend,
Trouble, we really do not want it, yet much
too often we find ourselves getting into it. Whether it is something
we walk into ourselves or seem to have inherited from someone else,
we cannot escape it. We can get out of it and we can do things to
avoid it as much as possible, but we can't do it alone, we need
someone stronger than us to see it through. “Mark
the perfect man, and behold the upright: for the end of that man is
peace. But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of
the wicked shall be cut off. But the salvation of the righteous is of
the LORD: he is their strength in the time of trouble. And the LORD
shall help them, and deliver them: he shall deliver them from the
wicked, and save them, because they trust in him.†- Psalms
37:37-40.
People, we are all different shapes, colors, and
sizes, and all with different personalities too. Some people are
humble and meek, but most are proud and arrogant. While we can all be
proud and arrogant sometimes, some are down right consumed with
themselves, which is the very reason why they reject God or worse,
pretend that they know Him, but are deceptive. Trouble comes when we
listen to these people and allow them to influence us. However, we
can overcome this, but the only way we can is by getting closer to
God. “False witnesses did rise up; they laid
to my charge things that I knew not. They rewarded me evil for good
to the spoiling of my soul. But as for me, when they were sick, my
clothing was sackcloth: I humbled my soul with fasting; and my prayer
returned into mine own bosom. This thou hast seen, O LORD: keep not
silence: O Lord, be not far from me. Stir up thyself, and awake to my
judgment, even unto my cause, my God and my Lord. Judge me, O LORD my
God, according to thy righteousness; and let them not rejoice over
me.†- Psalms 35:11-13,22-24.
Our only defense
against false witnesses is walking with Jesus and living our lives in
the Word of God. We can learn about and avoid troublemakers by
knowing God's Word and making it a part of our daily routine. “For
there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they
of the circumcision: Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole
houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's
sake. Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are
defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and
conscience is defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works
they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good
work reprobate.†- Titus 1:10,11,15,16.
The
majority of the time trouble comes when allow ungodly people to come
into our lives. We cannot always avoid people, especially when they
are family, but can know how to handle them. God is our strength to
handle every person who causes trouble in our lives. “The
transgression of the wicked saith within my heart, that there is no
fear of God before his eyes. How excellent is thy lovingkindness, O
God! therefore the children of men put their trust under the shadow
of thy wings. They shall be abundantly satisfied with the fatness of
thy house; and thou shalt make them drink of the river of thy
pleasures. For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall
we see light. O continue thy lovingkindness unto them that know thee;
and thy righteousness to the upright in heart. Let not the foot of
pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked remove me.â€
- Psalms 36:1,7-11.
The fountain of life, there is no
pleasure in this world that can give us life, or make us feel alive,
and I am not talking about temporary pleasures to liven up the flesh.
I am talking about permanent pleasures that liven up the soul and
spirit. True pleasure comes from having a relationship with Christ,
it goes well beyond any pleasure that we can get from our flesh. “But
the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering,
gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there
is no law. And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with
the affections and lusts. If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk
in the Spirit.†- Galatians 5:22-25.
If we are in
a position where we are facing trouble because of troublemakers, the
best thing we can do is work on our relationship with God. We need
not worry about them because God will handle them, if we seek the
things of God He will show us how to overcome all of our troubles.
“Fret not thyself because of evildoers,
neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. For they
shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.
Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and
verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he
shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the
LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall
bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the
noonday. Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: fret not
thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man
who bringeth wicked devices to pass.†- Psalms 37:1-7.
To
fret means to get angry or agitated by those who cause trouble in the
first place. We cannot do anything about their behavior, they must
change that on their own, but we can do something about our, do not
get angry with them or become so agitated that we retaliate. God will
handle it, and the best way we can move on and get out of the
trouble, or even avoid more trouble is to hand it all over to God.
“Recompense to no man evil for evil. Provide
things honest in the sight of all men. If it be possible, as much as
lieth in you, live peaceably with all men. Dearly beloved, avenge not
yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written,
Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine
enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing
thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil,
but overcome evil with good.†- Romans 12:17-21.
Today's
Prayer: God, We know when trouble is coming, Your Holy
Spirit inside of us warns us of that, yet quite often we fall right
into when it does. Lord, help us through all of our troubles, give us
Your power to overcome every person or obstacle that makes trouble
for us. Lead us and guide us, give us the wisdom to handle trouble
when it comes and keep us under Your wings so that we do not get
deceived or fall with those who are trouble. Help us to trust You in
every situation, to not seek vengeance on our own, to wait patiently
for You to handle the situation, and to keep walking with Your Son so
that we can bring them all to pass. In Jesus' name, Amen.
God
Bless You, I am praying for you,
Christina
