When my son gets into trouble at school, I might be a bit upset with him, but I treat it where say he will be grounded for the day after school. This means no toys or television. He has to help out with things such as cleaning his room, etc. Since my son has a disorder (pervasive developmental disorder), it takes more time to realize what he did wasn't right. So we find it effective for him to sit at the kitchen table and think about it (we have to take everything off the table so that he is not distracted). If he decides to pound the table (as he has done before), we set the chair and him in the middle of the kitchen and try to calm him down gently so we don't get in the crossfire. lol! Parents need to learn patience with a child. Hindering a child by being physical or putting a child down with words, is all abuse, and could seriously damage a child in the future. Children see and do what their parents do and the people that they look up or ones that they are trying to please. Eventually, all that abuse can focus themselves in doing the same to others when they get older, or it can make them completely shut themselves out from the world around them. A child might need consequences for their actions, but a parents also need to think of the consequences of their own actions before they put it upon their own children as well.
Good post hun!
They grow up so dang fast! I can't find my son's birth certificate either, but he was born in Austin, Texas not here in Wisconsin where I am from and there are a crapload of Seton Hospitals there. Since I didn't live there long, it might be a bit harder for me to obtain his
Interesting. My son has a mixture of things included. He has what they call Pervasive Developmental Disorder: https://www.childbrain.com/pdd.shtml
