MANNA: Word Study, Revised/Summarized pt 1
Exodus 16:1>2nd Month, on 15th day from Elim(strong trees) to The Wilderness of Sin between Elim(strong trees) and Sinai(=thorny), After departing from Egypt(=house of bondage/the Iron Furnance)
Ex 16:2>They MURMURED Against Moses(=drawn from the water) and Aaron(=a teacher, or lofty), accusing them/thinking They brought them out of Egypt into the Wilderness TO KILL THEM with HUNGER.
Ex 16:3>the people said, would God we died in Egypt, by the FLESH POTS, and when we DID EAT BREAD to the FULL; for YE HAVE BROUGHT US FORTH into this Wilderness.
Note: the people believed Moses and Aaron, not God, had brought them forth
Ex 16:4>God said to Moses: I will rain BREAD FROM HEAVEN that I MAY PROVE THEM, whether THEY WILL WALK IN MY LAW, OR NO.
Ex 16:6>Moses and Aaron spoke to the children of Israel at Even, THEN YE SHALL KNOW that THE LORD brought YOU OUT, in the Morning, THEN YE SHALL SEE the glory of the Lord; For He HEARETH YOUR MURMURINGS against The Lord and what are We, that YE MURMUR against Us?
Ex 16:8>Your MURMURINGS are not against Us, BUT AGAINST THE LORD.
Extra: 1Sam 8:7-8>And the Lord said unto Samuel, Hearken unto the voice of the People in all that they say unto thee: for they HAVE NOT REJECTED THEE, but THEY HAVE REJECTE ME, that I SHOULD NOT REIGN over Them. :8 According to all The Works which they have done since the day that I BROUGHT THEM UP out of Egypt even unto This Day, Wherewith they have Forsaken ME and Served other gods, so do they also unto Thee.

Ex 16:4>Then said the Lord unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the People shall go out and GATHER A CERTAIN RATE every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no. :5 And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in and it shall be TWICE AS MUCH as they GATHER DAILY.

Ex 16:27>And it came to pass, that there went out some of the people on the seventh day for TO GATHER, and they found NONE. :28 And the Lord said unto Moses, How long refuse ye to keep my commandments and my laws?
Ex 16:29>SEE, for that the Lord hath given you The SABBATH(=a day of rest), Therefore he giveth you on the sixth day the bread for two days: Abide ye every man in his place, LET NO MAN go out of his place on the Seventh day. :30 so the people RESTED on the Seventh day. :31 And the HOUSE OF ISRAEL called the name thereof MANNA: and it was like coriander seed, white; and the taste of it was like wafers made with honey. :32 And Moses said, This is The Thing which the Lord commandeth, Fill an omer of it to be kept for your generations; that they may see the Bread wherewith I have fed you in the Wilderness, when I BROUGHT YOU FORTH from the land of Egypt. :33 And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a pot, and put an omer full of MANNA therein, and lay it up before the Lord, to be kept for your generations. :34 As the Lord commanded Moses, so Aaron laid it up before the Testimony, to be kept. :35 And the children of Israel did eat MANNA Forty Years, until they came to a land inhabited; they did eat MANNA, until they came unto the borders of the land of Canaan(=low, flat).
Note: Exodus chapter 16 is the 1st appearance of the word MANNA.
MANNA was given to the people as a sign that The Lord was their God and it was The Lord that brought them out of the land of bondage, and not Moses. Also, he gave it them, TO PROVE THEM!!!
Extra: Exodus Chapter 16, it started with the children of Israel taking their journey from Elim to the Wildernes of Sin, in the Second Month on the fifteenth day. But we need to take a look back to see what brought them here. To do that, we will start at Exodus 11:9.
Exodus 11:9>And the Lord said unto Moses, Pharaoh SHALL NOT hearken unto you; That MY WONDERS BE MULTIPLIED in the land of Egypt. :10 And Moses and Aaron did all These Wonders before Pharaoh: and the Lord HARDENED Pharaoh’s Heart, SO THAT he WOULD NOT let the children of Israel go out of his land.
Exodus 12:1> And the Lord spake unto Moses and Aaron IN THE LAND OF EGYPT, saying, :2 This Month shall be unto you The Beginning of Months: it shall be the First Month of the Year TO YOU. :3 SPEAK ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In The Tenth Day of this Month they shall take to them EVERY MAN A LAMB, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for a house:
Ex 12:6>And ye shall keep it(the lamb) UNTIL the fourteenth day of the Same Month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall Kill It in The Evening. :7 And they shall take of The Blood, and STRIKE IT on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein THEY SHALL EAT IT.
Exodus 12:11>And thus shall YE EAT IT; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and YE SHALL EAT IT in Haste: IT IS THE LORD’S Passover. :12 For I WILL PASS through the land of Egypt THIS NIGHT, and WILL SMITE all The Firstborn in the land of Egypt, both man and beast; and against all the gods of Egypt I WILL EXECUTE JUDGMENT: I AM THE LORD.
Exodus 12:13>And The Blood shall be to you FOR A TOKEN (a sign) upon the houses where ye are: and when I SEE THE BLOOD, I WILL PASS OVER you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I SMITE THE LAND OF EGYPT.
Exodus 12:14>And This Day (14th day of the 1st Month) shall be unto you for A MEMORIAL; and YE SHALL KEEP IT a feast to the Lord throughout your generations; ye shall keep it a feast by An Ordinance for ever.
Exodus 12:16>And in the 1st day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the 7th day there shall be an holy convocation TO YOU; NO MANNER OF WORK shall be done in them, save that which Every Man MUST EAT, that only may be done of you.
Exodus 12:22>Strike the lintel and the two side posts with The Blood that is in the basin; and none of you shall GO OUT AT THE DOOR of his house Until The Morning.
Ex 12:27>It is the sacrifice of the Lord’s Passover , who passed over the houses of the children of Israel in Egypt, when he smote the Egyptians, and Delivered Our Houses.
V26>What mean ye by This Sevice?
V30>And Pharaoh rose up in the night, he, and all his servants, and all the Egyptians; and there was a Great Cry in Egypt; for there was not A House where there was not One Dead.
V31>And he (Pharaoh) called for Moses and Aaron by Night, and said, Rise up, and get you Forth from among my people,

And they built for Pharaoh treasure cities, Pithom and Raamses. :12 But the more they afflicted them, the more THEY MULTIPLIED and GREW. And they were Greieved because of the children of Israel.

Exodus 12:36>And the Lord gave the People Favour in the sight of the Egyptians, SO THAT they lent unto them SUCH THINGS AS THEY REQUIRED. And they Spoiled the Egyptians.
V37>And the children of Israel journeyed from Rameses (=child of the sun) to Succoth(=booths), about six hundred thousand on foot that were men, beside children.
V39>And they baked unleavened cakes of The Dough which they Brought forth out of Egypt, FOR it was not leavened(risen); because they were THRUST OUT of Egypt and could not Tarry, neither had they prepared for themselves Any Victual.
Exodus 12:40>(#40-test, trial, to prove)>Now the sojourning of the children of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years. :41 And it came to pass at the end of the four hundred and thirty years, even the Selfsame day it came to pass, that all the hosts of the Lord WENT OUT from the land of Egypt.
Extra: Genesis 15:12>And when The Sun was going down, a deep sleep fell upon Abram(=a high father); and , lo, an horror of great darkness fell upon him. :13 And he (God) said unto Abram, Know of a SURETY that THY SEED shall be a stranger ( a sojourner) in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they SHALL AFFLICT THEM Four Hundred Years; :14 And also that nation (Egypt), whom they shall serve, WILL I JUDGE: and Afterward shall they COME OUT with GREAT SUBSTANCE. :15 And thou shalt go to thy fathers IN PEACE; thou shalt be buried in a good old age. Genesis 15:16>BUT IN THE FOURTH GENERATION they shall COME HITHER AGAIN, for the iniquity of the Amorites IS NOT YET FULL.

For even Christ OUR PASSOVER is sacrificed for us: :8 Therefore let us KEEP THE FEAST, not with OLD LEAVEN, neither with the LEAVEN OF MALICE and WICKEDNESS; but with the UNLEAVENED BREAD of sincerity and truth.)

Exodus 13:18>BUT THE LORD LED the People about, through THE WAY OF THE WILDERNESS of the Red Sea: and the children of Israel went up harnessed out of the land of Egypt.
Exodus 13:20>And they took their journey From Succoth (=booths) and encamped in Etham (=bounded by the Sea). :21 And the Lord WENT BEFORE THEM by day in a pillar of a cloud, to LEAD THEM THE WAY; and by night a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night: :22 He took not away the pillar of the cloud by day, nor the pillar of fire by night, from before the people.
Numbers 33:3>And they departed from Rameses in the first Month; on the fifteen day of the first mont, on the morrow after THE PASSOVER the children of Israel went out with an high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians.
