This beats the Virgin Mary on a grilled cheese sandwich by far!!! Heck, now a company sells Jesus pans so you can have his image on anything you fry. Don't you just love American gluttony??? I am so not kidding Site: https://www.jesuspan.com/
Love the pic, Jondude! Didn't know you were an artist Great hair, too
I love your public education rants because you have been in the trenches. My administrators are more interested in patrolling school uniforms (is your shirt the right shade of blue?) than facing the reality of our ABYSMAL science scores. Our economically disadvantaged subgroup has had pathetic scores on the standardized science test for three years but, heck, why worry when Jesus is comin' soon? They just fire the teacher and pick on the kids over uniforms and keep getting the same results on the science tests.
Yes, it is "gawd", I corrected the typo. Thanks Solitaire and keep dropping by!
Hey Solitaire! Yes, add me as a friend if you can stand atheist rants. I will add you as well.
Mmmhollywood, thanks for dropping by and great question. This is a question that I get asked a lot as an atheist. I consider "faith" a delusion; a false belief or impression held in spite of strong contradictory evidence. My beef with "people of faith" is that their superstitions have been privileged for far too long. What is so special about religion that we grant it such uniquely privileged respect? H.L Mencken wrote: "We must respect the other fellow's religion, but only in the sense and to the extent that we respect his theory that his wife is beautiful and his children are smart." Privileging faith has deadly consequences. I am intrigued and mystified by the disproportionate privileging of religion in our otherwise secular societies. Sorry about the rant, you got me on a soapbox and it is hard to come down...this is why I blog.
Hayduke: Your wife made it to 36 years in the classroom? Heck, I wimped out after 8 years in the regular classroom and then became a librarian (my current position in the school district). Yes, our schools are plagued with nutty administrators. Idiotic LEGISLATORS force insane "education bills" down our throats. I have seen so many teachers quit the profession after only 2-3 years. In Texas and Oklahoma they now want kids to have "freedom of religion" on tests and homework (HB 2211 in OK, sponsored by Rep. Sally Kern). This means that if Johnny's "religious viewpoints" are in conflict with, um, say, scientific theory, he can write whatever lunacy his parents force-fed him on the exam and Johnny gets credit!!! So the kid who actually STUDIED is the only one penalized for a WRONG answer!!LOL!!! We are a nation of proud illiterates.
