Impressing God

Hello My Friend/Guest,

Today is Tuesday May 19, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of I Chronicles. Please read chapters 21-23 in your Bible or Click Here to read them.

Today's Message: Impressing God
Our physical success does not impress God. It is the amount of love we have for Him and our desire to obey Him that impresses Him.

It was now time for King David to prepare Solomon to take over the reign as the next king. It was Solomon who God appointed as the king who would build His Temple. David was not satisfied with just providing Solomon with the materials needed to build the Temple, he also instructed him and warned him to always seek guidance from God in all that he did. "And David said, Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be builded for the LORD must be exceeding magnifical, of fame and of glory throughout all countries: I will therefore now make preparation for it. So David prepared abundantly before his death. Then he called for Solomon his son, and charged him to build an house for the LORD God of Israel..........Now, my son, the LORD be with thee; and prosper thou, and build the house of the LORD thy God, as he hath said of thee. Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God. Then shalt thou prosper, if thou takest heed to fulfil the statutes and judgments which the LORD charged Moses with concerning Israel: be strong, and of good courage; dread not, nor be dismayed." (I Chronicles 22:5-6,11-13). David's instruction to Solomon holds true for us also, in all that we do we need to seek God for guidance. As long as we do we will prosper and nothing or no one can take away our success.

Impressing God has nothing to do with how much money we can give the church nor even coming to church. What good is giving all the money in the world or coming to church if you are not living for God? Living in the flesh, then going to church from time to time does not show God that you love Him and want Him in your life. Jesus said, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matthew 7:21-23). Please understand that the only way to God is first and foremost by accepting Jesus as your Savior. He is the key to developing a loving and trusting relationship with our Heavenly Father. If you do not know Him, you will never know God.

True love is demonstrated by our faith, commitment, and obedience to the Word of God as well as our dependency upon Him to answer prayer while we do all that we can do to bring it to pass. Indecently, it's great to have faith in God, but we must not just sit there and expect things to happen. If you are in need of a job, do you just sit there and wait for the phone to ring or do you look for open positions by faith? If you are ill do you just sit there and expect to be healed or do you take the proper medications by faith? "Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works............For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also." (James 2:17-18, 26). We should not assume that we can just leave it up to God and do nothing. The Lord expects our participation in all that we can do, works alone nor faith alone will not get us very far, but together they can help us get through all tribulation. Christ calls every believer to first seek the Kingdom of God, "But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33).

Today's Prayer:
Dear Jesus,
we thank You that salvation comes from You alone. We would fall way too short if we relied on our good works, our personality, our status in life or our worldly accumulation to purchase our Salvation. You are the sinless Lamb of God, the only acceptable sacrifice to God, who provides Salvation to every man, woman, boy and girl from every region on the face of this earth who call upon Your name. There is no other name in heaven or on earth whereby we can be saved. We are intensely grateful for Your merciful compassion toward us and the love that You have shown us. Let us return the love by living our lives for You. In Your Name, Jesus.........Amen.

Have a wonderful and blessed night/day.
God Bless,
Christina
