Today's Message: Most Important Job
God blesses us with one and sometimes many talents that enable us do the job needed to serve Him, but the most important job we will ever have is honoring the Great Commission.

Before his death, King David instituted a method of Temple services for the 24,000 Levites to avoid any favoritism. "And David distributed them, both Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, according to their offices in their service.................These were the orderings of them in their service to come into the house of the LORD, according to their manner, under Aaron their father, as the LORD God of Israel had commanded him. And the rest of the sons of Levi were these: Of the sons of Amram; Shubael: of the sons of Shubael; Jehdeiah." (I Chronicles 24:3,19-20). He made some priests, some musicians, some singers, and even some gatekeepers. Every position that had been commanded was very important and needed to be done with wholeheartedness since they would be in the presence of God. The duties were rotated to ensure that one person did not do any more or less to serve the Lord than the other.

The responsibilities of all the varied workers teach us that every opportunity to serve God is a sacred responsibility. No matter how small the position seems, it is an important one and one that should be done with honor and joy knowing that God will bless you exceedingly for it. This is illustrated by Obededom who was just an ordinary gatekeeper for the Temple. He held the Ark of God for three months while David prepared a way to have it moved to Jerusalem, but he received much more than the task of keeping the Ark. He also received God's Word and His very presence as He dwelt above the mercy seat. During that time Obededom and his family were very blessed. "Moreover the sons of Obededom were, Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, and Sacar the fourth, and Nethaneel the fifth. Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peulthai the eighth: for God blessed him." (I Chronicles 26:4-5).

Just as God blessed Obededom and his family He will bless all who allow Christ and His Word to rule their lives. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.................But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name: Which were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God. And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth." (John 1:1-3,12-14). Jesus has been the core of the Bible since the book Genesis when Adam and Eve committed the first sin. He is the Word made flesh and all who accept Him dwell with Him and enjoy His presence. The more our thoughts are occupied with Christ and His Word, the more we realize His presence.

Just before Jesus ascended into heaven, He declared the Great Commission, "And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:18-20). The most important job in the world for His disciples (Christ followers) is to teach all nations the true Gospel of Christ. We are to, but sow the seed, everything else is up to God and the person. We may see them accept Christ in person or will never know that they did until we meet them in heaven, but as long as we do out part in fulfilling the Great Commission we are blessed and honored by God.

Today's Psalm: 126:5-6
"They that sow in tears shall reap in joy. He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him."

Dear God,
We want to be faithful in sowing Your righteous truths by the manner in which we live and by the message we share with others. You have commanded that we must sow the seeds of truth, no matter what we see with the visible eye. Thank You, Jesus, You made a way for us to be justified through the shedding of Your innocent blood so that we, though guilty, could be saved from an eternal lake of fire. We are no longer enemies of the cross, but reconciled to the Father, through You. We want to sow seeds of salvation wherever we go and trust You for the eventual saving of many lives. In Jesus' Name...........Amen.

Have a wonderful and blessed day/night.
God Bless,
Christina
