A New Heaven & Earth 12.31.08
Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today we are completing our studies on the book of Revelation and also completing the entire Bible for the year. Please read Chapters 21-22 in your Bible or you can Click Here to read them online. If the link does not work you can copy and paste this one into your browser: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation%2021-22&version=9
Today we are reading about the new heaven and the new earth; the heavenly Jerusalem; and Christ's coming. Today's message focuses on the importance of realizing that nothing we have on this earth will compare to what we will enjoy living in the new heaven and the new earth.
God did not leave us with any uncertainty as to what lies beyond the grave. All true followers of Christ will enjoy living in a new heaven and a new earth. "And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea. And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away." (Revelation 21:1-4). Our war against sin will soon come to end and all our trials and tribulations will be no more. Can you inagine? No more crying, no physical distress, and no suffering; and no condemnation will press on our consciences.
Perhaps one of the most wonderful things to enjoy is that we will not have Satan to control us any longer. Praise God! "And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honour into it. And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there. And they shall bring the glory and honour of the nations into it. And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life." (21:24-27). We close this year and glorious revelation of Jesus Christ, having completed the reading of the entire God-given Guide to Life. After prayerfully reading it, we will never be the same and one of these days, sooner than we think, we will turn the last page in the book of our own journey through life to delight at seeing our names recorded in the Lamb's Book of Life.
The final word is God's Word. The more we continue to read and reread it, the more He will reveal to us. Prayerfully commit to start again reading God's Word. The blessing will be yours! A big congratulations goes out to you for your determination to read the Bible through this year, each year God will reveal to you even more of His wonderful plan for you.
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
As we live by faith and not by sight we see much of what the world does not see because we see it through eyes of faith. By faith we see a risen Savior who died for us and who is now interceding on our behalf. By faith we see the coronation day when all the saints will be gathered in the clouds to meet Jesus in the air. By faith we believe that life’s trials will be worth it all when we are ushered into the pearly gates and gather with saints of all the ages to praise our glorious Savior around the throne. It is by faith that we come to Jesus and it is by faith that we will stay the course. For it is not the one who runs the swiftest nor the one who runs for a day, but the one who endures to the end that will be saved. The struggles of this life diminish when we walk by faith and not by sight. Lord, navigate our steps as we journey here below. In Jesus' name........Amen.
Have a wonderful day/night! See you next year.
God Bless and Happy New Year!
Christina
