Today's Message: Directed & Proteced
If we allow God to direct our paths He will make sure we are protected froma worldthat does not accept the life of a Christian.
The nation celebrates its second Passover, "And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the first month of the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,Let the children of Israel also keep the passover at his appointed season." (Numbers 9:1-2). The Israelites gained their freedom from Egypt and the control of Pharaoh after they observed the first Passover. Freedom from the cruel slavery of Pharaoh in Egypt meant that now they were free to follow the leadership of the One True God.
It was of vital importance that they remember the One who freed them from slavery. Not only were they to partake of the Passover Feast, but they were also required to bring the Lord's offering, "The fourteenth day of the second month at even they shall keep it, and eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. They shall leave none of it unto the morning, nor break any bone of it: according to all the ordinances of the passover they shall keep it.But the man that is clean, and is not in a journey, and forbeareth to keep the passover, even the same soul shall be cut off from among his people: because he brought not the offering of the LORD in his appointed season, that man shall bear his sin.And if a stranger shall sojourn among you, and will keep the passover unto the LORD; according to the ordinance of the passover, and according to the manner thereof, so shall he do: ye shall have one ordinance, both for the stranger, and for him that was born in the land." (9:11-14). Today, our observance of the Lord's Supper is an acknowledgment of our freedom from sin and that we have become children of God.
God determined the journey of the Israelite tribes and he also provided them with the protection they needed in order to accomplish His purpose for them. "And on the day that the tabernacle was reared up the cloud covered the tabernacle, namely, the tent of the testimony: and at even there was upon the tabernacle as it were the appearance of fire, until the morning. So it was alway: the cloud covered it by day, and the appearance of fire by night. And when the cloud was taken up from the tabernacle, then after that the children of Israel journeyed: and in the place where the cloud abode, there the children of Israel pitched their tents. At the commandment of the LORD the children of Israel journeyed, and at the commandment of the LORD they pitched: as long as the cloud abode upon the tabernacle they rested in their tents. And when the cloud tarried long upon the tabernacle many days, then the children of Israel kept the charge of the LORD, and journeyed not.And so it was, when the cloud was a few days upon the tabernacle; according to the commandment of the LORD they abode in their tents, and according to the commandment of the LORD they journeyed." (9:15-20). Thiswas designed to establish Israel's confidence in the presence of God to protect and direct them to the promised land.
Just as God directed and protected the Israelites He has a plan for you as you journey through life. When God is our Guide, what is there to fear? God protects all who serve Him, "For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. And ye shall be betrayed both by parents, and brethren, and kinsfolks, and friends; and some of you shall they cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake. But there shall not an hair of your head perish." (Luke 21:15-18). God hasprovided a reliable threefold Guide for direction throughout life, His perfect Word, the indwelling Holy Spirit, and the power of prayer. When we are obedient to Him, His presence enlightens our minds, strengthens our lives and guides our steps to a great journey that is better than we ever expected.
Today's Psalm: 18:3
"I will call upon the LORD, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved frommine enemies."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
The solutions to our problems can be very perplexing and seem beyond our grasp. There are many things about tomorrow that we don't seem to understand, but we know Who holds tomorrow, and we know Who holds our hand. Thank you, God, that You don't expect us to have all the right answers or to fully understand all that concerns us.You simply want us to trust You as we hold on to Your unchanging hand while You go before us making our paths straight.Keep directing and protecting us along the way. In Jesus' name...........Amen.
Have a wonderful and blessed day/night and week.
God Bless,
Christina
