Bible Study: No Compromise

Hello My Friend/Guest,

Today is Tuesday January 20, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Exodus.

Today's Message: No Compromise
We can not compromise with God in order to live for the world, we must make the choice to either serve Him or serve the world, but be warned God will not be tolerant forever.

Today's Bible Reading: Exodus Chapters 8-10
You can read the chapters by clicking on the link above, if the link does not work you can copy and paste this one into your browser: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus%208-10&version=9

While God was in the process of delivering the Israelites, the Egyptians suffered through each of the ten plagues, but the plagues did not affect the Hebrews. Even Pharaoh's magicians recognized who was in control of the plagues. "And the LORD said unto Moses, Say unto Aaron, Stretch out thy rod, and smite the dust of the land, that it may become lice throughout all the land of Egypt. And they did so; for Aaron stretched out his hand with his rod, and smote the dust of the earth, and it became lice in man, and in beast; all the dust of the land became lice throughout all the land of Egypt. And the magicians did so with their enchantments to bring forth lice, but they could not: so there were lice upon man, and upon beast. Then the magicians said unto Pharaoh, This is the finger of God: and Pharaoh's heart was hardened, and he hearkened not unto them; as the LORD had said." (Exodus 8:16-19). Pharaoh's heart was hardened each time he rejected the Word of God, but the more he rejected Him the worse things got for him. The same thing still happens today, those who reject God's Word will find many plagues in their lives, often clueless to fact that God is trying to get them to realize that He is the One True God of all.

The Pharaoh considered himself to be one of the great gods of Egypt, so when Moses requested that the Israelites be permitted to worship the One True God, it was an insult to him. "And Pharaoh called for Moses and for Aaron, and said, Go ye, sacrifice to your God in the land. And Moses said, It is not meet so to do; for we shall sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians to the LORD our God: lo, shall we sacrifice the abomination of the Egyptians before their eyes, and will they not stone us? We will go three days' journey into the wilderness, and sacrifice to the LORD our God, as he shall command us. And Pharaoh said, I will let you go, that ye may sacrifice to the LORD your God in the wilderness; only ye shall not go very far away: intreat for me. (8:25-27). Pharaoh is symbolic of Satan, as he demanded them to worship God on his own terms. This is typical of how Satan deceives many who may worship the Lord, but continue to live their worldly lifestyle.

If Satan can not succeed, he will try to persuade us to compromise as if we are telling God I will worship You, but when I have the time. The person who is most deceived is the one who believes he can worship the Lord on his own terms. Others who are equally deceived say they will live for Jesus later in life and refuse to give up control of their lives, like Pharaoh. But there comes a day when the time for repentance is past. God alone decides how long He will be insulted and once one is at that point there is no turning back. Therefore, it is of greatest importance that we repent now and stop trying to compromise with God. All we are doing is worshipping the devil and losing out on the promises of God.

Today's Psalm: 37:26-28
"He is ever merciful, and lendeth; and his seed is blessed. Depart from evil, and do good; and dwell for evermore. For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off."

Today's Prayer: Psalm 27:4-6
Dear God,
One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple. For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: in the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock. And now shall mine head be lifted up above mine enemies round about me: therefore will I offer in his tabernacle sacrifices of joy; I will sing, yea, I will sing praises unto the LORD. In Jesus' name...........Amen.

Enjoy the rest of your day/night and be blessed.
God bless you,
Christina
