Beginnings of life
Are you familiar with the fish of the sea
Do you ever swim there with me
Do we meet in the watery depths
Where we can float and glide so free
From where do we come, and what we do
At twilight I slip into water silent and smooth
Then I look for someone, I look for you
I wonder if ever you’ll find me and move
The wonders of the beginnings of creation
Earth’s wonderful clear naturalization
But in the midst of looking so long
I see that I’ve found blank stagnation
Nature’s way of sending a warning
Under water I can’t feel rain pouring
So I’m blithely unaware of the message forming
That can wait until Sunday morning
Sunday, the perfect day for fish in the sea
Or perhaps it’s Twosday
