Congratulations to the Cleveland Cavaliers, who secured a spot in the postseason with a 107-94 victory against the Dallas Mavericks.
LeBron James scored 46 points and gave the home fans something they haven’t had in eight years, a playoff team. The Cavs have been contenders ever since they drafted James, but were never able to close the deal.
In LeBron's first year, the Cavs missed the playoffs by one game. 36 wins was enough to get Boston into the postseason, Cleveland had 35.
The next year, the Cavs finished the season tied for the 8th spot, but New Jersey held the edge in the tiebreak and Cleveland was sent home again.
The only nail biter for Cavs fans now is whether or not their team can hold on to the 4th spot in the East. LBJ needs his team to make it through the first round if he is to silence his critics, and avoiding teams like Detroit and Miami will certainly help.
