To me the Yankees were the most effective because that they had players I looked as much as. I have no use for fair weather foes, who love the Yanks today and the Mets tomorrow. Okay, Philadelphia won the World Series in 2008, and a few other teams won it from 2001-2007, but Yankee fans feel the championship is actually on loan to those other cities and their respective teams. You can't talk about baseball without mentioning the Yankees one day. They have been winners for a quite a while. Some of the best players in history have played on the Yankees; Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig, Joe DiMaggio, Yogi Berra, Mickey Mantle, Whitey Ford and Thurman Munson. Just try it, put on yankees jerseys in any place and you'll both get a high-five from a fellow lover.

First off, no one can take away the 26 World Championships the Yankees have won. Not any other franchise in history in any team sport can claim that same accomplishment. And as much as baseball is mostly concentrated on today's game and this current season, history can never be taken away. The Yankees success is unequalled in professional sports. They have won 26 World Series Championships and 39 pennants. Since the 1920s they have won a World Series in every decade except the 1980s.

For the last ten years, it has been very depressing to be a die hard New York Yankee fan. The answer, is simple, "The Damn Yankees" have not won the World Series since 1999!I still cant accept is as true to this day! I think that the team is too old to compete with Boston and Tampa Bay. Beginning in 1949, the Yankees won a record five consecutive world championships, three of them over the Dodgers. From 1996 to 2000 the Yankees won four out of five championships. They played for the title in '01 and '03. But those four victorious falls featured teams that largely featured a core group that had been brought up through the Yankee system and was beautifully complimented by other acquired players, either through trades or free agency. Yes, the Yankee payroll since 2000 has skyrocketed to ridiculous amounts, but all that high payroll has amounted to empty feelings as other teams have celebrated postseason glory.

When the Yankees are struggling, they always prove that it is worthy of the wait. The Yankees did not make the post season in 2008 the very first time since 1995. The true Yankee fans were very disillusioned, and the fair weather fans jumped off the bandwagon and moved on to the next team. True Yankee fans do not have to move on,like buying yankees authentic jerseys, because we know that someday the New York Yankees will return. We the followers anticipate to win, we want to gain, we know our team's owners need to acquire, and we understand that the management will do what it can to assist the team win.
