Well, as promised, I'm actually posting something this time hahaha x]] this poem is one of my deeper ones that managed to snag third place in a contest ^.^ Enjoy =]


"Confliction" by: Chad Brown

As I drive on the road of my mind
What befalls before me is a steep decline

The swerves and curves batter me so

Where can these lead me to go?

The tatters and fragments now all come

To my seething pain; An endless drum

Why can't I put this confusion to resolve?

Or place it in water and watch it dissolve?

This confliction's a nail; Piercing my brain

That makes me look back, wonder what I've gained

I knew if I toyed with fire, I'd be burned

Still I gave in; I should have turned

I traded kisses with sin, it was near my heart

And inches closer to tearing it apart

Yet the past isn't my current bane

But this confliction is now driving me insane

I want it removed from my sinking mind

And to rend it to pieces; Leave it behind
