Today we are reading about encouragement when facing persecution; instructions concerning Christ's return; and a commandment to work. Today's message focuses on the importance of realizing that we must learn and teach the Gospel to all who do not know Jesus.
The book of II Thessalonians is the 14th book/9th epistle of the New Testament and contains 3 chapters. The author of the book/epistle is Paul and it is written to the church at Thessalonica. The purpose of the letter was to instruct believers awaiting for the return of the Lord. What we are to learn is that it is important to teach and live by sound doctrine.
There are two defining events that everyone in the world must face, death and the coming of Jesus. It is a devastating fact that the vast majority of mankind is blindly heading toward an eternal lake of fire. Good people are ignorantly ignoring the call to reciever Jesus into their lives and sadld will suffer greatly. "Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day." (II Thessalonians 1:6-10).
Much of the world has it's heart set on gaining more and more of this life's luxuries, they are never satisfied with what they have, longing more and more of what they really do not need. When they can not meet this expectations fears and frustrations grow as the result of their inability to cope adequately with situations they can't change. This drive has, at times, led to physical and emotional exhaustion, depression, and burnout.
At times, we are all tempted to be influenced by this spirit of the world that deceives so many, "Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders, And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved." (2:9-10). We need to remind ourselves daily that we are in a spiritual battle against satanic forces, but through grace we are saved and comforted by the Lord Jesus Christ. "Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace, Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work." (2:16-17).
The coming judgment seems written so large in human events that no one should mistake or ignore it. Yet, the secular mind seems unable to see the invisible hand of the Almighty God in the chaos of world affairs. No matter how much we try there are some that refuse to know the truth and sadly will realize it when it's too late, but many simply do not know the truth. That is why it is very important for believers to teach the Gospel to all, you do not have to know the entire Bible. As long as you know that Jesus is the sinless son of God, who died on the cross to save you from your sins, then was buried, and three days later arose then you know the truth. If you have doubts, get into the Bible, preferably a King James Bible, and read the truth, if you need help go to aspiritualguide.net/salvation.htm to learn more.
Be aware that not all will be receptive to your teaching, but do not be offended, it's not a personal attack on you, they just are ignorant to accepting the truth, and sadly some will always be. Jesus gave instructions to all His disciples, "After these things the LORD appointed other seventy also, and sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come. Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest. Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.........But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out into the streets of the same, and say, Even the very dust of your city, which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you." (Luke 10:1-310-11).
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
I pray that You would wash me, and I will be whiter than snow. Blot out all my iniquity. Lord, open my lips, and my mouth that will enable me to declare Your praise. As I come to You humbly and in brokenness of spirit You restore to me the joy of Your salvation much like the new fallen snow that covers the earth. Thank You for being merciful and forgiving and for your grace. In Jesus' name.......Amen.
Enjoy your day/night and Seasons' Greetings.
God Bless,
Chrsitina
