Hello My Friend/Guest,
Today is Friday February 6, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Leviticus.
Today's Message:Sin Disease
Sin can literallytake over a persons life like a disease. However, God gave us instructions on how to overcome sin.

When the priest discovered that an Israelite was a leper, the priest had to pronouce him unclean and take him to a place away from everyone else. In his extreme grief and deep humiliation, this poor, wretched person had to pass through the campone last time, crying: Unclean! Unclean! "And if there be in the bald head, or bald forehead, a white reddish sore; it is a leprosy sprung up in his bald head, or his bald forehead. Then the priest shall look upon it: and, behold, if the rising of the sore be white reddish in his bald head, or in his bald forehead, as the leprosy appeareth in the skin of the flesh; He is a leprous man, he is unclean: the priest shall pronounce him utterly unclean; his plague is in his head. And the leper in whom the plague is, his clothes shall be rent, and his head bare, and he shall put a covering upon his upper lip, and shall cry, Unclean, unclean. All the days wherein the plague shall be in him he shall be defiled; he is unclean: he shall dwell alone; without the camp shall his habitation be." (Leviticus 13:42-46).
When leprosy first appears, it seems harmless, just a small white or pink spot on the skin and, in its earliest stages, it is totally painless. The spot might remain for months or even years before it begins to develop further. Eventually, leprosy causes an extremely repulsive disfigurement of the entire body, including spongy tumor-like swellings on the face and head. Leprosy illustrates how insignificant a sin may first appear, but how dreadful, loathsome, and fatal it can become. Sin immediately separates us from God, for it makes us unclean. People controlled by sin exist in a state of living death, unless they turn to Christ, truly repent, and forsake their sins.
The Hebrew nation was chosen for spiritual leadership among the nations of the world and to let them know there is only One True God. Various laws of God forbade them from close association with idol-worshipping heathens. They also tested their devotion, faith, self-denial, and obedience to God. Furthermore, the regulations taught Israel that all laws on how they were to live were given for their best interest. "Thus shall ye separate the children of Israel from their uncleanness; that they die not in their uncleanness, when they defile my tabernacle that is among them. This is the law of him that hath an issue, and of him whose seed goeth from him, and is defiled therewith; And of her that is sick of her flowers, and of him that hath an issue, of the man, and of the woman, and of him that lieth with her that is unclean." (15:31-33).
The laws concerning what was clean and unclean were symbolic of both moral and spiritual truths. God provided only one infallible Guide for how to live. All mankind is born with a fallen sinful nature inherited from Adam and Eve. Consequently, only one inspired revelation is needed for all generations, that inspiration is the Bible.
Today's Psalm: 23:6
'Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever."
Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
As we fully surrender our hearts to You we will no longer conform to the pattern of this world, but we will be transformed because our minds are being renewed by Your Spirit daily.Though we may be rejected by the world we have been chosen by You.Like living stones You are building us into a spiritual house where Jesus is the precious cornerstone. Because of that we are a strong foundation that can withstand the temptations and forces of evil as we declare the praises of Him who called us out of darkness. In doing so You enable us to live as aliens and strangers in this evil world so that we abstain from sinful desires. In Jesus name.........Amen.
Have a wonderful day/night and enjoy your weekend.
God Bless,
Christina
