Knowing The Truth 11.22.08

Hello My Friend/Guest,

Today we are continuing our studies on the book of Romans, please read Chapters 11-13 in your Bible or you can Click Here to read them online. If the link does not work you can copy and paste this one into your browser: biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Romans%2011-13&version=9

Today we are reading about Isreal still needing to be saved; and the duties of a Christian in personal life, church, society, and in government. Today's message focuses on the importance of realizing that we all have special abilites in which God wants us to serve Him. Reading God's Word daily will enable us to know the Truth and understand what it is that He wants us to do for Him.

As we have been learning throughout this book that when we become a Christian we receive a new nature, the nature of God. Many believers actually set apart their time, talents, and abilities serving God. However, they are not seeing any changes in their lives and do not understand why their efforts are so fruitless. Others have even foresaken the world, but seem unmotivated and useless when an oppurtunity arises to serve. These people are an example of Isreal who had faith in God to leave Egypt, but rebelled and refused to enter the promised land on His terms. Paul begs us, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God." (Romans 12:1-2).

Paul reminds us that we all all memebers of one body in Christ and have been given special gifts in which to serve God, "For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office: So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; Or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; Or he that exhorteth (encourages), on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness." (12:3-8). Just as we all possess different abilites to work different jobs, God has given us different abilites in which to work for Him. Do not be discouraged He knows our abilities and will bless us for using them, we just have to keep going in faith knowing that He is with us.

We should read through the Bible with a desire to do the will of God. As we read His Word it becomes our spiritual food and our source of strength and spiritual insight to accomplish His will. Just as physical food is assimilated into our bodies to provide good health and physical strength, so the indwelling Holy Spirit strengthens our spiritual lives through His Word that we might be healthy in our spiritual lives.

The Holy Spirit can guide you in all truth, however, He will not guide us in into all truth if we neglect to read all of His Word, from the book of Genesis to Revelation it is essential to read every book and chapter. There are some things in the Bible that we may not understand, but it is all there for a reason and in time we learn what that is. Just like God knows what abilites we can handle He also knows how much of the Bible we can handle as we read His Words daily. You can not read a chapter twice and get the same understanding, God will reveal something new each time you read it. That is why it is important to keep reading, the times when we really do not feel like it are the times when we need to most. The Word of God enlightens us, then empowers us to overcome our former way of life. When we Know the Truth, the Truth shall set us free

Today's Prayer:
Dear God,
Help me to remain faithful to You and your calling upon my life. Strengthen and grow my faith as I daily search Your Scriptures and apply their truths to my spiritual walk. As I go through the trials and experiences of my earthly journey would You fix my eyes and my ever-wandering heart upon Jesus. When the howling winds and forceful storms of this life attempt to shipwreck my faith may they instead prove my faith to be more than sufficient to withstand the continual assaults from the enemy. Because I take refuge in Jesus my spiritual foundation is firm, always dependable, and leads me to the truth and glorious victory. In Jesus name.......Amen.

Have a wonderful and blessed day and enjoy the rest of your weekend.
God Bless,
Christina
