Bible Study: Intercession

Hello My Friend/Guest,

Today is Thursday January 29, 2009 and we are continuing our studies on the book of Exodus.

Today's Message: Intercession
Jesus Christ is the only Intercessor to God and no matter how much your pray, read, or serve God, unless you ask Jesus into your life you will not be known to God.

Today's Bible Reading: Exodus Chapters 35-37
You can read the chapters by clicking on the link above, if the link does not work you can copy and paste this one into your browser: https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Exodus%2035-37&version=9

It was time to build the Tabernacle, all it's furnishings were according to detailed specifications given by God's instructions. "And Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said unto them, These are the words which the LORD hath commanded, that ye should do them..............And they came, every one whose heart stirred him up, and every one whom his spirit made willing, and they brought the LORD's offering to the work of the tabernacle of the congregation, and for all his service, and for the holy garments." (Exodus 35:1,21).

The Altar of Incense was made, "And he made the incense altar of shittim wood: the length of it was a cubit, and the breadth of it a cubit; it was foursquare; and two cubits was the height of it; the horns thereof were of the same. And he overlaid it with pure gold, both the top of it, and the sides thereof round about, and the horns of it: also he made unto it a crown of gold round about. And he made two rings of gold for it under the crown thereof, by the two corners of it, upon the two sides thereof, to be places for the staves to bear it withal. And he made the staves of shittim wood, and overlaid them with gold. And he made the holy anointing oil, and the pure incense of sweet spices, according to the work of the apothecary." (37:25-29). The Altar of Incense was symbolic of Christ as our Intercessor, Each morning, Aaron the high priest would refill the lamps with pure olive oil and burn incense upon the altar. He would take a coal of fire from the Brazen Altar and place it on the Altar of Incense and then place the incense, symbolic of our prayers, on it for a sweet fragrance that ascended toward heaven day and night.

The priests were permitted in the Holy Place, but only the High Priest could enter the Holy of Holies, once a year on the Day of Atonement. In front of the veil was a Gold Altar that was much smaller than the Brazen Altar. But the Brazen Altar sacrifices dealt with the judgment of sin. It was near the entrance to the courtyard. God alone was the source of fire on both of the altars.

Today, only Jesus Christ can make it possible for us to approach the Heavenly Father. He isour High Priestthat intercedes for us each time we pray andallows us to be made perfect in the eyes of God. "But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood.Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself." (Hebrews7:24-27).

An unsaved man maygo to church, hear sermons, pray, sing hymns, and even read a Bible, but unless he knows Jesus it is as if He has done nothing at all for God. Jesus said, "Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity." (Matthew 7:21-23).

From the Old Testament to the New Testament we have always learned that we needed an intercessor in order to reach God. Before we knew Jesus we had to go to a priest or whomever was appointed as the onequalified to hear our prayer, confessour sinsor ask our needs in hopes that God heard us and will help us. However, we no longer have to do all those things norworry that Godhas not heard us becauseall we have to dois accept Jesus. Accepting Jesus will help you experience a true relationship with God. Are you ready to experience a true relationship with Him?

Today's Psalm: 9:10
"And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee."

Today's Prayer:
Dear Jesus,
I confess that I am a sinner. I believe that you came to this earth and died as a substitute for me.I place my faith in You and what You have done for me.I receive You into my life and choose this day to follow and serve You.In Your mighty name, Jesus, I pray..........Amen. Have a wonderful day/night and many blessings to you.
God Bless You,
Christina
