Once Upon a Time
When a very young woman, I did love
Love was brought by a snow white dove
For him I knew that I would brave death
I would give my last single breath
I walked on flower petals wild
I saw the new world as if a child
It was fresh, green, and alive
It was lush spring newly arrived
We laughed, we cried, we sang all day
We did in leafy forests play
We sat and did nothing new
We experimented and our love grew
Then without warning it became
Somewhat worried, somewhat lame
It was not perfect as once it was
In my ear an angry bee did buzz
Telling me I was out of time
With no reason, with no rhyme
When it came, I was not ready
I still am not exactly steady
Will love find me yet
