My opinion of schools of education is so low that I'd be surprised if recent graduates have the capability to adequately teach cursive... or anything else, for that matter.
I suspect that you are suffering from one of those new-fangled mental illnesses listed in the Diagnostic & Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, 4th Ed.
Jon's right. I'm gonna have to spend some more time at snopes.com. I'd never heard of it before.
It is amazing how difficult it can be to do something that is clearly, clearly good for you. I went cold turkey and stopped smoking cigarettes in 1977 and have reaped the benefits ever since. However, notwithstanding that I had the determination to accomplish leaving my 3-pack a day habit, I can't seem to muster the same wherewithal to stop eating sweets. I hope you can stick with it. I suggest keeping a calendar and marking off each successful day as you go. It's a tremendous motivator.
I come out of this with tears in my eyes and more abhorrence for gutless, sanctimonious, cowardly politicians than ever before.
This is a blow to the gut. I wish you weren't leaving. I have enjoyed your blog very much. All I can hope is that you will stick your head back in once and awhile to update us on your continuing ups & downs with golf, gardening, your ex-, and the mixed bag that is known as retirement. Your friend, STEVE.
You two sound just like the two of us!
After a life of spectacles (I always had trouble with contact lenses), being able to see w/o them following cataract surgery has been wonderful!!! Perhaps I should add more exclamation points!!!!!
They must think guys who watch a lot of football on TV need Viagra or Cialis, huh?
You put a pix of the Peeps in this post, yet you resisted buying them??!! You are one strong woman!!!
What a relief! I thought this was going to be about something happening to Mary's ashes, getting knocked off the ottoman or something. Jeez, man, you scared me. It was just a drunk dog!!
A good list. Where you live, you really ought to have a cat or two. It'd be good for you AND the cats.
I understand your reasoning in finally getting rid of the Olivetti. I don't think I could have done that though. My old Smith Corona portable electric is stuck away in a closet; I'll go before it does. Makes no sense...
I like the Tacoma. It was on my short list when I ended up getting my Honda Ridgeline, an '06, which I still have. It is a great vehicle.
